FRESH HOPEA Study in Ezekiel 36 & 37

Ezekiel 37:14, 26-28

FRESH HOPERom 5 3 We also have joy with our troubles, because we know that these troubles produce patience. 4 And patience produces character, & character produces hope. 5 And this hope will never disappoint us, because God has poured out his love to fill our hearts. He gave us his love through the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to us. NCV

FRESH HOPE

Hope: the confident expectation & anticipation of good, improvement or a positive end result to a desire.

1) Fresh Hope is Built On God’s Trustworthiness- Eze 37:14

14 “ I will put My Spirit in you & you shall live & I will place you in your own land. Then you shall know that I, the LORD, have spoken it & performed it,” says the LORD.

Trustworthy means that a person has been judged, because of past performance, to be deserving of trust in their words and promises. God has no problem having His track record examined. Our hope can be secure in God because of His trustworthiness.

In this world, we are in reality blind about what

course to take. We must rely solely on the Word of the

only One who is truly sighted--God Himself. He gives us the trustworthy

direction we need to finish the course.

Robert Sutton

Num 23 19 God is not a man, that he should lie, nor a son of man, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill? NIV

Have I examined God’s track record in my lifeto build fresh hope for

today?

2) Fresh Hope is Built On God’s Eternal Perspective- Eze 37:26-28

26 Moreover I will make a covenant of peace with them & it shall be an everlasting covenant with them; I will establish them & multiply them & I will set My sanctuary in their midst forevermore.

2) Fresh Hope is Built On God’s Eternal Perspective- Eze 37:26-28

27 My tabernacle also shall be with them; indeed I will be their God & they shall be My people.

2) Fresh Hope is Built On God’s Eternal Perspective- Eze 37:26-28

28 The nations also will know that I, the LORD, sanctify Israel, when My sanctuary is in their midst forevermore.

Our knowledge and vision will always be limited, but God can give us an eternal picture of things. A new perspective can help us develop new hope as we look at a situation in a new light.

Jeremiah 33 2 "This is what the LORD says, he who made the earth, the LORD who formed it and established it--the LORD is his name: 3 'Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.

Isaiah 46 9 Remember the former things, those of long ago; I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me. 10 I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say: My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.

From who’s perspective am I drawing my hope from?

Am I believing God that He has my future in His

hands?
