Social and Solidarity Economy, because what we promote is an economy to satisfy the needs of people over profit.

In 2015 in Barcelona there are: 861 cooperatives, almost 1,200 labor corporations, 2.400 entities of the third social sector and 260 initiatives of community economies.

The local SSE public policies planned in the Barcelona City Council's Impetus Plan
correspond to two main general objectives:
Promotion: development of awareness-raising and dissemination measures, as well
as promoting the creation of new initiatives and the transformation of mercantile
companies into SSE entities, or their approach.
Reinforcement: measures to strengthen and improve existing SSE initiatives and to
improve their articulation.
In order to respond to these objectives, they propose 6 lines of action.
