Planetary Stepping Introduction By Yuri Shramenko (3/2/2015)
One of the great standalone techniques for finding intermediate term trend changes in markets, sometimes called swing pivots, is Planetary Stepping (PS). While the originator of this method is unknown, it was popularized by Bradley Cowan about 15 years ago. What I found attractive enough about PS to investigate it further is that the method gives significant attention to turning points in price data. While we are used to finding significant astrological reference points in a company’s incorporation chart or a commodities first trade chart, we rarely pay attention to the date of a significant trend change. Why wouldn't that date contain sensitive zodiac points that can be referenced to predict similar occurrences in the futures? Research validates trend change dates as containing significant astrological data for intermediate term predictions. In Jeanne Long's Universal Clock© book, the first chapter illustrates a Planetary Return technique – these Returns are the forerunners of Stepping. How's that? While a Return is a planets return to the zodiac position it occupied during a significant event, basic stepping is simply a planet(s) forming angles to its own position on the date of an event. We calculate this method on daily price charts. Two methods presented in this article.
Basic, or simple, stepping uses one planet. From its zodiac position on the day of a significant intermediate trend change we move forward 30 degrees six times.
Advanced stepping uses two planets that had a Ptolomey aspect in narrow orb and one of the planets was either Sun, Mercury, Venus, Mars. The next several occurrences of this exact same aspect may correlate with the dates of swing pivots. While this particular pair of planets in this specific aspect may not have a correlation with trend changes and/or swing pivots when viewed over a long series of price data, the point stressed here is that by selecting a significant trend-change date we are catching a relatively short period of time in which that aspect will be active. It’s as though a significant trend-change activates the aspect!
In this article I'll demonstrate the method, and in the next issue I'll describe more advanced criteria to use in selecting planets, along with recommendations of how to trade this method. I'm demonstrating Planetary Stepping on the SP futures. We had a significant low on June 24, 2013. On that date we had Helio Venus sextile Jupiter by a degree. The simple method is to just see when that same angle separation occurs again. On this chart I labeled subsequent occurrences B, C, D, and E. Only C seems insignificant.
On the same day, June 24 2013, Helio Mercury was in opposition to Mars shy one degree. Of the next four occurrences of the simple method, three were significant.
On October 15, 2014, Helio Venus was in opposition to both Mercury and Uranus. Venus itself was at 16'Libra (196' Longitude). So in Galactic Trader we select, under the “Planets” menus item. “Aspects”, and then #23
“Aspect to a fixed angle”. I selected Venus and 30' as the angle. As you can see the results are respectable. Also note that Galactic Trader™ gives you the dates of the next two occurrences.
Also on October 15, 2014, Helio Mercury was in exact opposition to Venus. The next occurrence was significant. The second brings us to present time. If the rally halts at that point we have another good prediction.

Key Alignments of Minor Bodies in 2015: Chiron, Asteroids, Transneptunian Factors and Transpluto

As astro-traders, we can rely on intelligent market analysis and disciplined trading methodologies to give us consistently profitable returns from our excursions into the risky territory that the markets provide. We depend on tried-and-true techniques to reduce our risk exposure. Even so, we are always on the lookout for new tools, strategies, and insights that can sharpen our understanding of the planetary dynamics that move the markets. With more uncertainty in the markets, it’s always useful to broaden our perspective so that we can gain fresh insights from longer-term cycles and from the cumulative impact of minor phenomena that might otherwise be overlooked. When we combine this kind of investigation with rigorous back-testing for the markets we are trading, we sometimes discover surprisingly potent planetary correlations with market trend reversals or accelerations. In fact, some of the most high-value astro-trading dynamics are often hidden in the ranks of phenomena that typically escape notice because they are out of the mainstream of conventional astrology, or because they are considered insignificant by most astro-traders and financial astrologers. While they are clearly not the most important factors in moving the markets, some of the minor bodies in astrology should be taken into account by astro-traders who seek a more comprehensive view of market activities. These factors can provide key insights when they are considered in charts for stock and commodity exchanges, in first-trade and incorporation charts, and in the natal horoscopes of individual traders. As transiting planets they are most active when they are stationary and when they form aspects with other planets outside the orbit of Mars. In this listing of the most important minor body alignments during 2015, we have included the comet Chiron; the asteroids Ceres, Vesta, Juno, and Pallas; the as yet unobserved planet Transpluto as calculated by M. Émile Sevin; and the eight transneptunian factors (Cupido, Hades, Zeus, Kronos, Apollon, Admetos, Vulcanus, Poseidon) as postulated by the German astrologer Alfred Witte and his colleagues and students. In working with these phenomena as factors to consider in the trading environment, it’s especially useful to plot their planetary price lines on market charts using the Fibonacci Trader/Galactic Trader™ software. As a starting point in planetary price line analysis, it’s usually best to begin with the price line harmonics that correspond with the particular planetary aspect that is under consideration. It’s also worth paying attention to the “cluster dates” when two or more minor body alignments occur within a 24-hour period. These dates add an extra layer of potential for market-moving action. They are even more
potent when an outer-planet station or aspect occurs on the same day, or when there’s a simultaneous activation of a recent solar eclipse. This chart for the Spring Equinox illustrates the key role that seemingly minor factors can have in impacting global events. At the time of the Spring Equinox on March 20, 2015, the Moon will be forming a precise 90-degree square alignment with the transneptunian factor Kronos. As shown on this presentation of the event on a 90-degree dial, the red arrow points to that potent connection at “A”. The Moon/Kronos combination is powerful by itself, but in this case it also triggers midpoint dynamics between the alignment of the Sun with 0º Aries at “B” and the massively disruptive energy of the waxing Uranus/Pluto square at “C”. Even without the role played by Kronos here, this configuration suggests a time of major upheaval. But when we add Kronos to the mix, it draws our attention to affairs of state. We thus may hear news of changes in government around this time, with the possibility of coups or declarations of dictatorial powers. And because this Spring Equinox comes just 13 hours after a total solar eclipse, we can also look for a big impact on market activity as well.
Hot Spots Superior Timing Secrets

This article reveals some of my favorite trading signals. I would like to share
some simple but powerful energy points that can direct us to a better
understanding of the twists and turns of the financial markets. Trading, on it’s
most basic level does not have to be complicated. It does not have to
consume all of our time, unless we want it to. There are ways to cut down the
hours of research spent and to still turn a handsome profit. I would like to share with you some of
these ways.
It is often said that a picture is worth a thousand words, so I will use pictures to explain these simple
but powerful methods for locating great trading opportunities.
There are a few notes worth mentioning first. These trade signals are based on aspects that are
formed between specific planets. Aspects are angles that are formed as the two heavenly bodies
travel around the sky .These angles are calculated in degrees of longitude. Please be aware that
some of these Hot Spots are located using Heliocentric degrees of longitude. That is using the
positions as seen from the Sun. An ephemeris for Heliocentric based planets will be needed to find
these aspects. I have marked which system is to be used, whether it is to be Geocentric or
Heliocentric, on each chart. Most software packages nowadays comes with both systems loaded,
which saves us a lot of effort. I found these Hot Spots using the Galactic Trader™ software program.
So let’s get started. Study each chart carefully and notice how the bold colored bars (my software
colors for the date of the aspect) often times sets up a wonderful trading opportunity for a reversal of
trend in each market. When these Hot Spot dates occur, you may use your favorite entry method to
signal a good trade.
As you can see from the charts that an overwhelming amount of changes in market direction occur
around these aspects, often times on the exact day! They are just a sample of the many instruments
that are available to trade. Of course you may apply these Hot Spots to your own favorite markets to
see if that market is sensitive to a particular Hot Spot. If you take the time to plot these dates out in
advance, you will be prepared with your trading strategy. Also remember that because the location of
all of the heavenly bodies are known in advance, you can plot these dates as far into the future as
you care to do.
With these simple to find Hot Spots, many high probability turning points, and potential trade
opportunities can be found. By combining these signals with your favorite entry and exit strategies, a
solid trading program can be developed according to your own taste for risk and reward.
What I believe is important about these Hot Spots is how easy they are to incorporate into your daily
trading. As I mentioned at the beginning of this article finding great trading signals does not have to
be complicated. It does not have to consume hours and hours of your time each week. Once plotted,
you need only a glance to can see if an upcoming Hot Spot point of energy may indicate a trend
reversal.
I hope that you enjoy using these secrets that Nature has given us. I encourage you to discover your
own Hot Spots in the markets that you like to trade. A little bit of time spent in advance can bring the
possibility of huge rewards over and over again.
