Anniversary

Thoughts From the Chairyou so much for your valued support Mark.

PLASA took place at the Excel in October this year, and SEDA’s presence was felt as I delivered a DJ related seminar on what used to be known as ‘DJ Sunday’. I also recently presented a mixing seminar for our NADJ South Central friends in Hampshire in return for Alan Marshall’s amazing seminar at our last SEDAbuzz.

Our next ShowNight is on Sunday 24th Novem-ber 2013 at the Thistle Hotel, Brands Hatch. Paul Forsyth will tell you here what is planned at this time, I have to say this one is going to be very exciting!

BrianSEDA Chairmanwww.seda.org.uk.

SEDA’s last ShowNight took place on Sunday 29th September 2013. We had a very busy night with lots to see, and excellent opportunities to chat with many friends and colleagues. Our second hand table was full of various bits and pieces for sale, the SEDA shop had lots of ‘party pack’ style novelty kits on offer to brighten up our clients’ parties and give us a new revenue stream, and the raffle raised a generous sum for our adopted charity, as well as providing some great prizes - thank you very much for your contributions.

We had a couple of visitors to our shownight, it was great to welcome Alan Marshall the National Secretary of NADJ, and also Paul Burrows the regional organiser for E & SE of the Musicians Union which generated a quote from former SEDA Chairman Roger Eagleton; “This is a landmark moment in SEDA’s history”.

The featured retailer was RSD Music who are based in Eversley in Hampshire. Dave Reed brought along a great selection of new equipment for sale with discounts for SEDA members along with a couple of new surprises.

There was a very welcome return to SEDA Shownights with Gary Job representing Denon DJ, with lots of high quality mixers, media players and of course the Engine software on show. Gary, I speak for all the SEDA members when I say it’s great to see you back! Scott Bye from Virtual DJ demonstrated the new features planned on VirtualDJ 8; this generated a lot of interest from many visitors and members.

And finally, Mark Parkhouse did an excellent presentation on the range of FBT speakers he brought along. You may remember seeing an FBT ‘stack’ on our BPM stand this year, thank

Following the amazing ShowNight we presented in September comes theNovember end of year extravaganza!

Exclusive!!! First outing of the new XY series of Pioneer Speakers following their launch at PLASA - We have the joint representation from Pioneer of both Playout systems and the New Speaker range (this may be the first chance for many to see this addition to the Pioneer brand) We are pleased to have both Rob and Alex representing these two areas.

Bernie form Prolight Concepts will be showing us the latest developments and best sellers from their vast fantastic of products.

Mark Buss will be popping in to to bring us up to speed with what is happening over at Martin Professional.

Mark from Xtendamix will be showcasing their products and how they can be a fantastic addition to what you do.

We will also be announcing some of the plans to celebrate SEDA’s 40th Anniversary - That’s right! SEDA the longest running DJ Association in the UK will be celebrating our 40th birthday.

With much more to be confirmed, keep up to date at www.seda.org.uk or on our Facebook pages.

See you there.
