This means that every department head has come up with bigger and better ideas to benefit the people of DuPage Township. However, the most enjoyable aspect of being supervisor has been my growing relationships with YOU! People are always willing to give their opinions. I truly appreciate this, and always welcome your comments. I enjoyed having breakfast with all of you last month. We are the branch of government that is closest to the people, and people look to us for solutions. I challenge the staff to keep doing more by anticipating needs and empowering the department heads to stay on top of things. The awards are nice, but we operate with the opinion of “What have you done lately?” Are the residents happy? Are those hurt most by the economy getting the services they need? Are we saving homes from foreclosure? Bottom line: When you come to us, you will leave our doors with a direction. If we can’t help with the immediate need, we can at least point you to a place you can go. A lot of other townships operate with the ‘business as usual … same as we’ve always done’ mentality”. As long as I am in this position, that won’t happen here. We’re here to watch over our residents. If there is an issue that is coming up, I want the township to be on top of it. I would also like to take the time to send out a heartfelt thank you to all of those who volunteered their time to help wherever and whenever needed. Your devotion and dedication NEVER goes unnoticed and is greatly appreciated. As always, I look forward to another incredible year serving you! Your Supervisor, Bill Mayer DuPage Township Supervisor

A WORD FROM THE SUPERVISOR...William M. Mayer

Dear Seniors,

You know when the fountains are opened back up, and the trees are beginning to bloom, and the tulips are beginning to sprout, SPRING has finally sprung!!

May marks the 13th year anniversary for me, here at DuPage Township. It has truly been an honor and a privilege serving as your Township Supervisor. These years have been so very enjoyable, and I am very much looking forward to serving you for the next 3 years. The township has accomplished some great things again over the past year and this indeed makes me very proud.

This is a member’s only event.

Thank you to Jean Casnter, Chris and Gary Budzak, and Mary Ann Bloch for spearheading the annual hygiene pack project. With everyone’s contributions, 250 packs were given to the DuPage Township Food pantry. A gift of love from us to the members of our community who need that extra help. Last, I want to say “Thank you” for your prayers, support, meals, and ride shares. After an unexpected operation on New Year ’s Eve, Cancer was discovered in my colon. As you read this, I will be half-way through my chemo. “Spring is nature’s way of saying, ‘Let’s Party’” – Robin WilliamsIt’s been nice seeing those of you who have come in to our office with your senior freeze forms! It’s always our favorite time of the year because we get to visit with

you, even if it’s only for a few minutes!

The senior freeze forms were mailed at the end of March. You should have gotten the new form in the mail from the County! It helps us if you also bring the envelope

that the form came in because it has your PIN number on it!

New this year….. the household income level has been raised to $65,000 for the Senior Freeze Exemption. If you are not sure if you qualify just bring all your income

tax papers to our office and we can look at that for you.

Tax bills will be mailed out May 1st! Check your bill to make sure you are receiving all your exemptions.

Enjoy the nice weather!
