Looking Back Over 2015

Life if so hectic at times and I feel as if we’re running a never-ending race at 100 mph. These last 2 weeks however have the been the exact opposite! Once again God blessed us with a surprise that truly made Ephesians 3:20 come to life…”immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine…” He brought us to Uganda for Christmas!! I’ll be honest. I dared to think it, but I wasn’t very bold in asking God to open a way for us to spend the holidays with Daniel’s sister and her family in Kampala. The finances just weren’t there and we have a lot going on right now as we are trying to get our housebuilding project underway. But God knew we needed some downtime and a good dose of family.

“You give life. You restore. It’s your breath in our lungs, so we pour out our praise to You only.”

This song has been on replay recently in my spirit. Louie Giglio once said that, “Worship is when we give God His breath back.” He was referring to the passage in Ezekiel where God breathed into the dry bones and their natural response was to breath out. God has not only given us the breath of life, but He is faithfully breathing in us the breath of reconciliation, regeneration, and hope. How I long for the day when my worship will be pure and uncorrupted. I must admit that at times it probably smells like bad breath, contaminated with impatience and faithlessness instead of a sweet fragrance worthy of the King of Kings.

But for today, I trust that my Savior will see this newsletter as my praise being poured out to Him only, in a humble act of worship. It is truly a privilege to be able to serve Him by reaching the unreached of Burkina Faso. He has gone before us and laid a firm foundation of prayer partners who spur us on and encourage us in ministry. He has provided financial partners whom He uses to continually supply our every need. He is faithfully equipping us for the overwhelming task that lies ahead of us. He is a loving Father who gently reminds us day in and day out just how much we need Him. He is our lifeline.

Our prayer for all of us (that includes you too!) in 2016 is that we continue to model our Lord Jesus more and more. May we keep our eyes on Him and truly love our neighbor. May His Word be in our hearts and His praise on our lips to the point that our actions lead others into His presence. We are looking forward to see how God will move in 2016.

MERRY CHRISTMAS HAPPY NEW YEAR

WHAT’S IN STORE FOR 2016? “Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.” (Proverbs 19:21) Our biggest goal for next year is moving into our BOLON village. There are two major things that must happen first: 1) We must finish Jula study (trade language) and 2) We must build our house. (This includes setting up our solar panel system and water tank.) WE NEED YOUR PRAYERS! Although we have not reached our financial goal, we are convinced that we are to press ahead. The enemy doesn’t want God’s word to penetrate the hearts of the Bolon people and he will stop at nothing to prevent it. Pray along with us for doors to remain open and for strength to remain faithful. May we hold our plans loosely and hold on tight to Him!

Your Hands and Feet, The Dias Family
