Our CS-200 Model Solar PortableTraffic Signal Systems comply withAustralian Standard AS4191-1994Portable Traffic Signal Systems andvarious State Road AuthoritySpecifications.

Portable Traffic Signals are usedwhere temporary control of vehiculartraffic is required, such as at road orbridge works. It provides two mainforms of control via shuttle controland plant-crossing control.

The equipment is comprised of twoelectronic control lers known as“MASTER” and “SLAVE” mounted in atrailer unit that is capable of beingsplit with each unit being positionedseparately on the work site.

The dual-trailer system allows thetrailers to be connected together sothat it can be towed as one individualunit. This capability allows the systemto be towed to the job site using onevehicle.

The Por table Traf f ic Signals arecapable of operating under manual orautomatic control and each separateunit is ful ly self -contained andpowered by battery with a solarcharging system.

The fully lockable steel enclosureprotects the controller and batteriesfrom the elements and vandalism.

AGD202 Radar Vehicle Detector

The AGD202Radar VehicleDetector isdesigned to be

mounted near the red aspect of thetraffic signal lantern pointing towardsthe oncoming traffic. The detectorhas a single zone of detectionstretching from the radar to typically60m along the carriageway. Thedetection zone is such that onlyvehicles approaching the detectorare detected and vehicles travellingaway from the detector are ignored.

The Scorpion Model C TL-3 TruckMounted Attenuator (TMA) ismounted to a shadow vehicle forpurposes of protecting the work crewin front of the shadow vehicle andprotecting the motorist that mightdrive into the lane closed off by theshadow vehicle.

The Scorpion Model C TL-3 TMA isdesigned to conveniently fold up andover the flat bed or tipper truck duringtransport and storage. The compactdesign and balanced weight distributionmakes it ideal for high-speed travel.

Its low profile and open tubular designare beneficial in minimising windresistance and drag, enabling you todrive at freeway speeds safely, as wellas increasing rear visibility.

The Scorpion TL-3 TMA consists ofstrut and cartridge sections that arelinked together on a support frame.The curved side rails are made fromcorrosion resistant aluminium tubes,which of fer ful l width impactprotection along the entire length of

the TMA. The side rai ls weredesigned to re-direct errant vehiclesaway from the rear of the truck (coffincorner).

The aluminium boxes are filled with amoisture proof, aluminiumhoneycomb material. The boxes,together with the curved side rails,absorb the energy from an impactingvehicle. The aluminium boxes arepainted with a bright yellow powder-coated finish, for lasting durability.

Upon impact, the Scorpion TMAcrushes in progressive stages. Whenhit by a l ighter vehicle weighingapproximately 820kg, travelling atspeeds up to 100 km/h, the impactwill crush the cartridge section of the

Scorpion. When hit by a heaviervehicle, such as a truck or 4WDweighing approximately 2000kg,travelling at speeds up to 100km/h,both the strut and cartridge sectionswill crush, absorbing the energy fromthe impact.

Incidental damage sometimes occursduring backing-up or turning corners.With Scorpion’s modular design andconstruction, only the portions of theTMA that are damaged need to bereplaced.

The Scorpion TL-3 TMA has beentested and passed all optional andmandatory requirements of NCHRP-350 Test Level 3 (TL-3) and can beused in work zones up to 100 km/h.

The GL3000 Series Lasers use anultra high visibility green Laser toestablish visual line control.

Depending on the model, the operatoradjusts the laser spot to the desiredreference point on the road surfaceusing a remote control panel locatedin the cab of the vehicle or manuallyat the laser. The laser spot isimpacted directly on the road surfaceabout 10 to 30 feet ahead, showingthe operator exactly where the vehicleis relative to “on line”. The Laser spotis on the road ahead of the operatorso that the reference is in the drivingfield of view instead of a TV screen orboom pointer.
