Gauge: 18 sts x 24 rows = 4" (10 cm) in Double Seed St Cable Panel A measures 2¾" across. Cable Panel B measures 4¼" across. Abbreviations: BO = Bind Off CO = Cast On K = Knit K2tog = Knit 2 Stitches Together P = Purl PM = Place Marker RS = Right Side Rnd(s) = Round(s) St(s) = Stitch(es) WS = Wrong Side Note: Finished length measurements includes ½ of the width of the saddle. Back: With the smaller needles, CO 98 (106, 114, 122, 130, 138) sts. Begin K1, P1 Rib Pattern, and work even until the piece measures approximately 2½" from the beginning, ending after WS row. Set Up the Patterns: Next Row (RS): Change to the larger needles, work Row 1 of Double Seed St Pattern over the 1st 11 (15, 19, 23, 27, 31) sts, PM, work Row 1 of Cable Panel A over the next 18 sts, PM, work Row 1 of Double Seed St Pattern over the next 7 sts, PM, work Row 1 of Cable Panel B over the next 26 sts, PM, work Row 1 of Double Seed St Pattern over the next 7 sts, PM, work Row 1 of Cable Panel A over the next 18 sts, PM, work Row 1 of Double Seed St Pattern across to end

Work even in the patterns as established until the piece measures approx. 15¾" from the beginning, ending after WS row. Front: Same as the back. Sleeves (Make 2): With the smaller needles, CO 48 sts. Begin K1, P1 Ribbing, and work even until the piece measures approx. 2½" from the beginning, ending after WS row. Set Up the Patterns: Next Row (RS): Change to the larger needles, work Row 1 of Double Seed St Pattern across the 1st 15 sts, PM, work Row 1 of Cable Panel A over the next 18 sts, PM, work Row 1 of Double Seed St Pattern across to end the row. Continue the patterns as established, and increase 1 st each side every other row 0 (0, 0, 0, 0, 5 times, every 4 rows 0 (0, 6, 11, 16, 18) times, every 6 rows 12 (17, 12, 8, 4, 0) times, then every 8 rows 4 (0, 0, 0, 0, 0) times, working new sts into Double Seed St Pattern as they accumulate. 80 (82, 84, 86, 88, 94) sts remain. Continue even in the patterns as established until the piece measures approx. 22 (22, 21½, 21, 21, 20½)" from the be-ginning, ending after WS row.

Shape the Saddle: BO 31 (32, 33, 34, 35, 38) sts at the beginning of the next 2 rows. 18 sts remain. Continue even until the saddle, when slightly stretched, fits along 1 shoulder. BO in the pattern.

Finishing: Sew shoulder seams, inserting the sleeve saddles in between the front and back. Neckband: With circular needle, pick up and knit 92 sts around neck opening. Rnd 1 (RS): *[K1, P1]; repeat from * around. Repeat last rnd until neckband measures approx. 2½" from beginning. BO loosely. Fold neckband in half to WS and loosely whipstitch into place.

Sew sleeve and side seams.
