Back: With the smaller needles, CO 98 (106, 114, 122, 130, 138) sts. Begin K1, P1 Rib Pattern, and work even until the piece measures approximately 2½" from the beginning, ending after WS row. Shape the Saddle: BO 31 (32, 33, 34, 35, 38) sts at the beginning of the next 2 rows. 18 sts remain. Continue even until the saddle, when slightly stretched, fits along 1 shoulder. BO in the pattern.

Finishing: Sew shoulder seams, inserting the sleeve saddles in between the front and back. Neckband: With circular needle, pick up and knit 92 sts around neck opening. Rnd 1 (RS): *[K1, P1]; repeat from * around. Repeat last rnd until neckband measures approx. 2½" from beginning. BO loosely. Fold neckband in half to WS and loosely whipstitch into place.

Sew sleeve and side seams.
