HIGHLIGHTSThe A320 belongs to the “New Generation” aircraft where most of the latesttechnology has been utilized.

FADECEach of the Engines are controlled by a Full Authority Digital Engine Con-trol providing power management, indications and engine limitation amongother duties. Pilot control is achieved by means of electrical power levers onthe pedestal.

ECAMAircraft system monitoring is now achieved by a Electronic CentralizedAircraft Monitoring system where system page is automatically displayed incase of failure.

EFISThe cockpit is equipped with Electronic Flight Instrument System, consistingof six CRT indicators.

CFDSA Centralized Fault Display System uses the Multifunction Control and Dis-play Units (MCDU) as access keyboard to perform check and trouble shootingof various computers in most of the systems in the aircraft.

SidestickThe conventional control column is replaced by two sidesticks for control of theaircraft.

MCDUTwo Multifunction and Display Units are used as interface for the Flight Man-agement System and for access to the CFDS.

CompositeMaterials of different kind are used in a great extend, specially for flight controlsurfaces.

Fly By WireThe conventional cables for the flight control surfaces are replaced by wires, only the Stabilizer and the Rudder are backed--up by cable runs.
