MOORUNDIE Poll Merino Stud Keith S.A. M 2017 ON PROPERTY RAM SALE STARTS AT 1.00PM (SA) TH WEDNESDAY 20 SEPTEMBER, INSPECTION FROM 10.00AM The large enthusiastic crowd at our Field day on July 19th, shows just how strong the Merino industry is. This year we displayed 300 rams and had 90 available for sale, we sold 30 on the day. Our offering at the Hamilton Sheepvention once again topped the averages with our five rams selling up to $17,000 and averaging $10,200. We would like to thank the purchasers Leovale, Lake Grace, Western Australia; Kedelston Park, Calivil, Victoria; Woodoona Stud, Karoonda, SA, and BJ & CA Duggan, Harrow, Victoria. We will offer two rams in Adelaide on Friday, September 8th. There are 150 rams available at our On Property sale, and 400 rams available for private selection. This year our CFA ewes have been sold. We will be offering 450 young ewes in the Keith sale on Oct 20th. Moorundie had an outstanding 2016 ram selling season. For the third year in the last four we have topped the average at the Adelaide Ram Sale. PB007 was sold to Mark & Kym Kerin, Gullen Gamble Stud, Yeoval, New South Wales for $34,000. NE595 sold to the Smith Family, Glenville Stud, Cowell for $40,000, and PB121 sold to David Adams, Wombelano, Victoria, for $21,000. Our first team at Hamilton exceeded expectations with our pen of five winning first prize. These rams went on to average $9,850 in the sale, and NE073 topped the sale at $30,000 was sold to Glenlea Park, Pinnaroo and Boorana Stud, Mortlakes, Victoria. Our fifth On Property auction was very well supported with total clearance of 150 rams. Top price was paid by the Bury Family, Jaburee Stud, Wilmington for $18,500, and 30 rams were sold as ram breeders. We also sold 350 rams privately.
