These detectors are designed for use in the analog current measur- ing mode. The Series 1000 detec- tors have an average lifetime seven times greater than that of a standard CEM. DeTech Series 1000 detectors are available mounted in ceramic housings and most are bakeable to 350°C. The design is currently being used in several applications and can be retrofitted for any analog appli- cation. “The Quad” Series 2000 Multi-Element Detector DeTech has the solution for applications that require channel electron multipliers to become smaller at a lower cost with improved performance. These detectors are designed for use in either pulse-counting or analog mode. The Series 2000 detectors innovative design increases multi- plier life by incorporating four separate channels and twisting them like a barbershop pole. When the Series 2000 is in opera- tion the input signal is spread among the four channels. Since the active surface area of the CEM is increased the useful life of the CEM is also increased. • Vented Anode - allow for residual gases in the channel and anode to be removed during pumping. This improves the performance and life of the detector.

• Grid - causes all secondary electrons to travel down the detector channel, increasing the signal to noise ratio and the overall performance of the detector.

• Lower Operating Voltage - by starting the detector operation at a lower voltage the overall lifetime is increased.

4700 SeriesThese high-current detectors are designed for use in the ana-

log current measuring mode. Designed to reach high perform-ance at >25µA bias current, the 4700 Series detectors are themost widely used quadrupole mass spectrometer detectors in theworld. Channeltron® 4700 Series detectors are available mounted in ceramic housings and most are bakeable to 350°C.

4800 SeriesThese high-current/high gain detectors are designed for use

in either pulse-counting or analog mode. Typically, a 4800 Seriesdetector has 10X higher gain than 4700 Series detectors and anoutput pulse height distribution of ≤ 75% FWHM. The 4800 Series are available mounted in ceramic housings and most arebakeable to 350°C.

5700 SeriesThese are the new high performance detectors for mass

spectrometers. They are designed for higher sensitivity, extendeddynamic range and longer detector life. They provide a performance upgrade in many Agilent instruments.

Magnum SeriesThese detectors provide exceptional performance to achieve

optimum mass resolution, dynamic range, and detection sensitiv-ity for Mass Spectrometry measurements. Benefiting from theirexclusive SPIRALTRON™ technology, BURLE’S Magnum™delivers increased gain stability and extremely low noise.

BURLE’S replaceable Magnum™ cartridge can be installedquickly with minimal instrument down time. Installation can beperformed by the instrument operator eliminating the need for anexpensive factory service call.

Channeltron Mass Spec Detectors detect and amplify awide variety of electro-magnetic phenomena such as:UV and X-ray photons, positive and negative ions,

electrons and assorted molecular or sub-atomic particles. Burledetectors have widespread usage in applications as diverse asenvironmental analysis, surface analysis, pharmaceutical analy-sis, general laboratory spectroscopy, high-energy physics andspace exploration.

Channeltron Mass Spec Detectors deliver high performance.Burle detectors are the preferred detector for mass spectrometeruse. In-house glass production, materials research and applica-tions engineering allow Burle to test the limits in custom designand fabrication. A 100% test and inspection policy guaranteescustomers the highest quality and most reliable detectors avail-able in the world.

Warranty - All multipliers come with a one year prorated warranty starting at the date of shipment. Multipliers with insufficient gain or excessive noise should be returned to S.I.S.for evaluation and testing. If the multiplier proves to be defectivedue to manufacturing defects, it will be replaced at no charge during the first three months of use and prorated thereafterbased on a one year life and a gain of 1 x 105 at 3 KV. Multiplierswhich test properly or which were damaged due to operator faultor carelessness will not be replaced; the user will be billed fortesting.
