Medieval people had a variety of games and music to keep them entertained.

There was more than one instrument to keep people

busy.

String instruments were popular such as the hurdy-

gurdy (left) and the lute/guitar (right).

A favored game back then was chess, played by nearly

everyone.

Board games such as checkers (right) where played,

but card games and dice games were too.

Outdoor games include Ring around the Rosie, Hide n’

Seek, tag, and See Saw.

Above is an example of Hoodman Blind (today know as

Blind Man’s Buff).

A countless number of games, indoor and outdoor,

have been taken from the middle Ages.
