• Collaborate with universities offering BS in TTM or Applied TTM (As of 2014, 24 universities)
• Established Standard of TTM training centers & set up certified training centers
• Developed training course for TTM doctors to be qualified trainers in clinical practice
• Train junior & senior TTM students to conduct researches to study the practice of folk healers & TTM doctors in their communities to compile indigenous medicine knowledge of the country.

• 2014 - 5 universities offer M.S. and /or Ph.D. courses in TTM or applied TTM
• Scholarship for DTAM staffs to study for MS/PhD in Thailand & abroad
• Developed training course for TTM assistants to be qualified to take licensing exam to be TTM doctors
Challenges facing integrative medicine in Thailand
1. More clinical trials on traditional/herbal medicines are needed to provide evidence base to support their use in integrative care.
2. More academic institutions for integrative medicine must be established.
3. Suitable research methodology needs to be developed to evaluate clinical benefit of mind-body therapy, especially for the care of cancer patients (not just looking at therapeutic efficacy of traditional medicinal preparation only).
Expectations for the next decade
1. People are self-reliant in health care based on their health literacy and the use of Thai traditional household remedies in the medicine box
2. People have the right to choose TTM services equally provided in the health care system, and the quality of TTM services meets the standards and is well accepted as a valuable national traditional heritage
3. Thai herbal health products contribute to the strength and the stability of Thai economy.
4. Thai traditional medicine is recognized by all Thais as a valuable heritage of Thai wisdom of health care.
