AArsha Vani ( V o i c e o f S a n a t a n a D h a r m a )

Śrī Rāmadūta Hanumān Ān̄janēya “‘Hanumān’, ‘Rāmadūta’ and ‘Ān̄janēya’ are among many epithets of Māruti.

Each name in itself is a great mantra. Hanumān – ‘Hanu’ means jaw or cheek. Hence, literal meaning of Hanāman is one who has great jaws. In Vedas, there is a mantra allegorizing jaws to fire churning sticks, tongue to conjoining them and the resulting speech to fire. Hence Hanumān in Vedic parlance, means the embodiment of ‘Vak’ i.e. speech. One’s knowledge is expressed in their speech. Rāma Himself praises Hanumān for His speech, diction, modulation, content etc. Hence, Hanumān is Jñānavān

i.e. the embodiment of knowledge. Also, Hanumān Himself tells Mother Sīta that He shall carry Her safely to Rāma just as Fire God carries the Yagna oblations to Indra (5-37-21). He acted as the conjunction between all the Vānaras who are manifestations of various Gods and Rāma, the Supreme Lord. When one pronounces Hanuma, the base vowels are ‘A’ ‘U’ and ‘M’, which signify ‘AUM’ the Praṇava. Hence, Hanumān is ‘Praṇava svarūpa’ the form of Ōmkāra. Ān̄janēya – Ān̄janēya literally means son of An̄janā Devi. Another meaning of word ‘An̄jana’ is the mystic balm applied to eyes to see that which can’t be seen with naked eyes. ‘Ān̄janēya’ is one who makes us see the Supreme Parabrahman. When one worships Ān̄janēya, He takes us to Rāma. Guru Gita also says ‘ Ajñāna timirāndhasya Jñānān̄jana Śalākāya …’ i.e. to overcome ignorance and nescience, one should apply the balm of knowledge. Hence, ‘Ān̄janēya’ is the embodiment of Jnana. In Vedas, some portions are called ‘An̄janās’. Ān̄janēya is a Vedic parlance is one who removes Ajñāna and gives Jñāna. Rāmadūta – In their very first meeting, Rāma told Lakṣmaṇa that Hanumān is an expert in all Vedas, scriptures, polity, law etc. He also says that whosoever king has Hanumān as ambassador is sure to be successful. In other words, Rāma selected Hanumān as His messenger in the very first meeting. Hanumān also declares Himself as ‘Dāsōham’, ‘Dūtōham’ i.e. servant, messenger of Rāma in the court of Rāvaṇa. Let’s always chant these three nāmas as mahāmantrās and get the grace of Hanumān. – Samavedam Shanmukha Sarma

Traditions-Fulfilments It is said that one can get intimate union

with Śrī Mahā Viṣṇu by worshiping Him with Tulasī leaves in the month of Vaiśākha. So, please make sincere efforts to worship Him with Tulasī leaves.

Those who recite ‘Hanumān’ twelve times before starting any endeavor are sure to achieve success.

According to scriptures, worship of Nārāyaṇa on Vaiśākha śukla dvādaśi bestows the merit of performing Agniṣṭōma yajna and attains Candra lōka.

Performing abhisheka or arranging for continuous stream of water to fall on Lord Siva in the month of Vaiśākha yields great results.

Those who cannot follow the austerities throughout this month, should worship Lord Viṣṇu at least on Śuddha trayōdaśi, caturdaśi, and pūrṇima by following Snāna, dāna, japā with stipulations.

According to scriptures, Aṣṭami falling on Wednesday is said to be Alabhyayōga which means very rare. Worship of Aparājitādēvi on Vaiśākha Śukla Aṣṭami yields victory.

Sadhu Vachanam "All religions have one common ideal -worship of the Lord, and all of them proclaim that there is but one God. The one God accepts your devotion irrespective of the manner of your worship, whether it is according to this or that religion. So there is no need to abandon the religion of your birth and embrace another.” — Sri Chandrasekhara Saraswati.

(Sri Chandrasekhara Paramacharya was born on May 20, 1894)

Bharateeyam "The Land where the Ganga does not flow is like the sky without the Sun, a home without a lamp and a brahmin without the Vedas.” - Jean Tavernier.

Spiritual Quest (Answers by Sri Samavedam Shanmukha Sarma)

Does worship of Hanumān amount to the worship of Supreme Brahman (Parabrahman)? Or, is this only worship of a God? Can one worship Hanuman as the bestower of liberation? Worship of different Gods are stipulated for achieving different results. Scriptures prescribe that ‘Saguna Brahmōpāsana’ i.e. worship with Form and Name leads to gradual salvation. All the six schools known as Ṣaṇmata i.e. Vaiṣṇava, Śaiva, Śāktēya, Saura, Gāṇāpatya, and Skānda are formulated in the Āgamās based on the Vedas. All the six are accepted schools of worship. Incessant worship leads to soul purification, concentration and devotion thereby granting knowledge and salvation after spiritual practice intensifies. Albeit, worship of Hanuman is not different from the above six. Hanumān is the direct embodiment of Śiva. Rāmāyaṇa, purāṇās and many other mantra treatises undoubtedly established that Hanumān is ‘Sarva Dēvatātmaka’ i.e. the embodiment of all the Gods. His worship is received with applause in all methods including both Śaiva and Vaiṣṇava. Worship of Hanuman is not just worshipping a God. It is holistic and all-inclusive. It is also ‘Saguṇa Brahmōpāsana’. Like other worships, this is also filled with knowledge. Practicing any kind of worship not just for fulfilling wishes but without expecting any returns gradually leads to soul purification and salvation.

Karṇāṭaka simhāsana pratiṣṭāpanācārya

While Śrī Vidyāraṇya was doing penance at Mataṅga hill, the two warrior brothers, Harihara and Bukka, sons of Sangama approached him. Directed by a dream, they sought his blessings and guidance. Earlier, these two brothers had been taken as prisoners to Delhi. It is believed they were under compulsion to embrace Islam. But Delhi ruler recognizing their valor, sent them back to the south as the heads of an army to contain the rebellions brewing in the Deccan. Seizing this opportunity, the two brothers asserted their independence. With

the guidance and blessings of Śrī Vidyāraṇya, they established their own independent kingdom with its capital on the left bank of Tuṅgabhadra river. Following the sage’s counsel, they shifted their capital to the right bank, naming it Vidyānagara, as a mark of respect and gratitude to the sage, whom they regarded as their Guru, God and savior. The city, which came to be popularly known as Vijayanagara or ‘City of Victory’ was planned in accordance with the

directions of sage Vidyāraṇya in the form of a Śrī Chakra, with the Virūpākṣa temple in the middle and nine gates all around. A copper plate grant of 1336 A.D bearing the sign manual ‘Virūpākṣa’ recounts, ‘Harihara was seated on the throne as directed by Śrī Vidyāraṇya. He made 16 great gifts to this resplendent city of vast dimensions called Vidya.” The emperor placed at the feet of his master Śrī Vidyāraṇya, all his imperial insignia. Śrī Vidyāraṇya initiated him into Ātmavidya and conferred on him the titles, Śrīmad Rājādhirāja Paramēśwara, Aparimita Pratāpavīra and Narapati. From then on, the Śringēri Jagadguru came to be addressed as ‘Karṇāṭaka sinhāsana pratiṣṭāpanācārya’ which is part of their titles even to this day. One should worship Śrī Vidyāraṇya by reciting below sloka.

avidyāraṇya kāntārē bhramatāṁ prāṇināṁ sadā । vidyāmārgōpadēṣṭāraṁ vidyāraṇyaguruṁ śrayē ॥

To souls that wander in utter dismay in the dense woods of mental ignorance,

He shows the path of true wisdom; Homage to the great Saint Vidyaranya!

Saint Composer – Annamāchārya It is well known that Annamāchārya and Lord Vēṅkaṭēśvara of Tirumala share an inseparable relationship. Annamāchārya composed thousands of compositions on varied subjects such as love, dispassion, devotion, and Vēdānta amalgamating all Navarasas i.e. nine kinds of emotions such as

humor, compassion, fear, romance etc. His compositions are repository of mellifluous poetry, sonorous aesthetics of note, noble thoughts, elegant depictions, beautiful descriptions and above all melodious music. His compositions are treasure house that provide expressions of life style, morality, personality development, philosophy, local phrases etc. His usage of words in multiple senses with situational appropriateness is inimitable and hence is aptly called ‘Pada Kavita Pitāmaha’. Lord Vēṅkaṭēśvara was the epicenter for his entire literature. Some of his compositions reveal mysterious secrets about the efficacy and divinity of Tirumala. An orderly arrangement of some compositions makes one experience all the festivities starting from daily sevas to Brahmōtsavas that are performed in Tirumala. A sincere devotee can create Rāmāyana or Bhāgavata organizing his compositions. Some compositions extoll Lord’s devotees such as Rāmānujachārya, Anantāḷwar etc. Many of his compositions such as ‘Adivo Alladivo Śrihari Vāsamu..’, ‘Brahma Mokkatē Parabrahma

Mokkatē..’, ‘Kondalalo Nelakonna Kōnēti Rāyudu Vādu..’, ‘Manujudai Putti Manujuni Sēvimchi..’ are in vogue today. Let’s all always reminisce Lord Vēṅkaṭēśvara making compositions of Annamāchārya as the pathway leading us to the ‘Supreme Parabrahman’! - Samavedam Shanmukha Sarma.

Ādyanta Prabhu Gaṇanātha & Ān̄janēya

When looking at Godly prowess, nature (tattva) of gods must be understood. Worshipping a deity existing in conjunction with another, grants the merits of worshipping both deities. These are divine secrets which are otherwise revealed to great saints unlike known by reading books. Tyagarāja Swami is one such great saint composer who experienced that divinity. In one of his popular compositions, ‘Śrī gaṇanāthāṁ bhajāmyaham śrīkāraṁ cintitārtha phaladaṁ… ’ in adoration of Lord Ganesha, he said ‘Ān̄janēyavatāraṁ su-bhānanaṁ kun̄jaraḥ mukhaṁ tyāgarāja vanditaṁ… ’. He experienced the oneness of Gaṇapati and Ān̄janēya. As for their manifested forms, Gaṇapati has trunk while Ān̄janēya has tail. Both are same in strength and valor. There is a Shiva temple by name Madhya Kailash in Adayar, Chennai, Tamilnadu. The main deity is surrounded by shrines of Śiva, Sūrya, Dēvi, and Viṣṇu. The temple is famous for its unique idol made of Panchaloha known as "Ādyanta Prabhu", which is half Gaṇapati and half Ān̄janēya. Since both Skanda and Gaṇapati are forms of Śiva and Parvati, both tattvas are exemplified in Ān̄janēya. Just like Gaṇēśa removes obstacles, Hanumān also is the remover of obstacles and gives success (Kārya Siddhi Pradāta). In the Vedas, there is a form of Gaṇēśa known as Kṣipra Gaṇapati. The moment you worship this form of Gaṇapati, all the obstacles vanish immediately. Similarly, Sita’s problems only existed until she saw Hanumān, who is none other than ‘Kṣipra Ān̄janēya’. In Sanātana dharma, the central philosophy of multitudinous forms is infact only one. It is very clear that Unity is the core of Hinduism.

An affectionate adulation and discriminate caution from a dispassionate father “After hearing his two and

half hour discourse on Sri Errana garu delivered at the age of 18, I am now confident that he

can deliver discourses thoroughly on any spiritual topic. There is no stopping for him.”

When someone told him that Sri Shanmukha Sarma garu is delivering mellifluous and

authoritative spiritual discourses with profundity and clarity on a wide spectrum of topics

ranging from Puranas to Itihasas to abstract Vedanta to unfathomable Bharateeyata, an

unemotional father said, “He will continue to do so, as long as he does not think that he is

delivering them.”

(Brahmasri Rama Murthy Sarma garu – Sri Shanmukha Sarma garu’s father)

A Guru’s legitimate pride “Renaissance and rejuvenation of Bharaata’s and Sanatana

Dharma’s glory to towering heights in It’s holistic magnanimity is not an avocation, but a

full-time and tireless movement for chi. Shanmukha Sarma. Everything in Bhaarata – be it

culture, history, rivers, forests, landscape, pilgrimage centers, fine arts, composers, poets,

mountains, ancient sages and their knowledge, puranas, itihasas, Vedas, Vedanta,

Upanishads – inspires his seer like vision and finds zealous mention in his speeches thereby motivating the listeners. His ease in connecting myriad of things from multiple scriptures amalgamated with the preachings

and deeds of Mahatmas to amply demonstrate that ‘Samanvaya is Sanatana – Samarasya is Bharateeyata’ is truly amazing.”

(Sri Mahadevanandanatha – Sri Shanmukha Sarma garu’s Guru)

A Sadguru’s overwhelming assurance “After listening to his ‘Siva Padam’

compositions, I said to myself ‘Truptosmi’ - highly contented. He is the one, who can answer

those who are destroying Sanatana Dharma not only from outside, but even from inside

remaning famous and posing as credible people.”

When Smt. Shanmukha Sarma garu expressed concern about Sri Shamukha Sarma garu’s

health due to incessant and stressful schedules, the kind Sadguru said, “Let him go on with what he is doing. We are here. Nothing will happen to him. He shall accomplish much more in the glorification of Sanatana

Dharma. He shall always have ‘Siva Raksha’ – protection of Lord Siva.”

(Sadguru Sri Sivananda Murthy garu)

A Pontiff’s prophetic blessings “Samavedam Shanmukha Sarma garu is very dear and

intimate to us and the Kanchi Peetham. His spiritual discourses on various topics are hearty,

laudable and are listened by many with rapt attention. A great soul said, ‘Sivapadam

Dadrukshe Param’ - His ‘Siva Padam’ – more than 1000 compositions on Lord Siva – is

commendable. We bless him with a long life and good health to continue his relentless

propagation of Sanatana Dharma.”

(Sri Sri Sri Jayendra Saraswati Swamiji, Pontiff of Kamakoti Peetham, Kanchi)

Jagadguru’s amorous proclamation

“Shanmukha Sarma garu is propagating Sanatana Dharma very extensively and distinctly in present

times. Hence, it is very appropriate to honor Shanmukha Sarma garu with the title ‘Arsha Parampara

Poshak’.”

(Jagadguru Sri Sri Sri Swaroopananda Saraswati Swamiji,

Pontiff of Chaturamnaya Sri Jyotirmatham, Dwaraka)

Jagadguru’s compassionate benediction

“Samavedam Shanmukha Sarma garu is delivering these Puranas in lucid and simple

style to benefit the common folklore. His discourse is ‘Ramaneeyam’ i.e. that which

sheds new shade of melody and beauty every moment and in every experience. This

talent is the gift of God due to the merits of previous births. Also, My appreciation

for the following he has even in non Telugu speaking states and abroad.”

(Jagadguru Sri Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji, Pontiff of Chaturamnaya Sri Sarada Peetham, Sringeri)

Brahmasri Dr. Samavedam Shanmukha Sarma garu was born on May 16, 1967 Vaisakha Suddha Saptami, Vidyaranya

Jayanti day. As a humble tribute for his 50th birthday falling this year on May 2, above is a small collection from the

innumerable accolades he received.

Diversity in society is natural. Many religions co-exist. Each is distinct in its own way. We live, following the religion we are

born into. Likewise, others have faith in their religion. Faith does not require any arguments. Faith is personal. While following our own Dharma, it is virtuous to respect others but not prick, pinpoint faults, criticize or hate. A civilized citizen shall think accordingly. But, surprisingly, this attitude is seen among Hindus only. Philosophy of others is different. “No other religion is as great as our religion. One should adopt our religion to reach heaven. One should pray our God only. All others are stupid and will go to hell. Our religion should pervade this entire country. We will convert those unbelievers either by hook or crook. We will hate other religions. Our aim is to treat them as faulty and point out as their deficiencies.” – This is their attitude. The over generous (heart enlarged?) Hindu still could not understand this hostility and accommodating these criticisms with the blind faith that all the religions are one and same. They are unable to think whether others will also say the same. Vile strategies of these conversionists are very vulgar. While preaching to love one’s neighbor, they themselves are ridiculing and propagating hatred towards other religions. They can’t even withstand these other religions. At one time, they mention that their religion exists in Vedas. But, immediately, they deride that very same Vedic religion. Though violence, atrocities, terrorism, vandalism, and treachery are quite common to both these conversions’ religions, one follows their scriptural methods whereas the other one expects everyone to have faith in ‘Whom they think is God’ and walk away from their traditional practices, customs and Gods. By even transforming their own scriptural methods and interspersing with Vedas, Hindu customs, traditions and methods, they stir emotions by imitations. Those people who convert or already been converted have hatred on Hinduism full to the brim. They are converted by stamping their feet on Hindu books and pictures of Hindu Gods. They scorn our Gods and scriptures with little or no knowledge in their congregations. Everyone can propagate their own religion within the purview of law under the rights provided such as Freedom to Live, Freedom of Speech etc. But, it is a crime under law to be derogatory towards contents of other religions. Every Hindu should remember this point. Legal action can be taken immediately if someone derides one’s religion. No one can convert anyone into their religion without abuses. For that matter, their direct hollowness is lucid in their very attempt to contain their religion by alleging other religions. No place – offices, hospitals, colleges, homes, shops, vicinity of Hindu temples – is exempt from these conversions. Without letting others live their own life and follow their own traditions, these conversionists target exploit sick people and poorer sections. During this process, they are carved to develop animosity towards their old religion. Hindu community is becoming frigid to this limitless insult of Hindu Gods and scriptures. Even those meagre protests and withstanding’s by couple of good-hearted are met with chaotic shouts attributing ‘intolerance’. Never there has been any rationale to dive deep into truth in any of these chaotic shouts except emotion, anger and hatred. In fact, it is quite astonishing to note their illegitimate ways of attacking those who are protesting their violence and antagonism. They immediately announce, “We herewith register our protest upon the attacks on minorities and Dalits.” Where is the need to combine Dalit brothers with them? They are conveniently using Dalits to their advantage. Poor Dalits! Many of them are amazed at this ‘relation’ between minorities and Dalits. But, those ‘Name-sake Dalits’ who are weaponized, enthuse to spit venom! However, Dalits are not able to notice that, in fact it is this conversionists who are following castesim to the last drop! For undertaking conversions, these conversionists pay higher amounts to higher castes and lower amounts to lower castes. Such tremendous disparity is observed only from these conversion religions! Why none question this? Any doctrine or religion seems erroneous if seen with irreverence. For that matter, intellectuals in their own country tore apart the shortcomings in their religion. Can they tolerate if all of those are exposed? One more important aspect is to be noted distinctly. Not a single Hindu propagandist or intellectual is disrespecting their religion or preachers or sacred books. They are simply just expressing the greatness in their Dharma. This behavior is natural to a noble religion. Do they have the mental stability and generosity to accept with patience, if their true colors and bloodshed histories are exposed to commoners with evidence and proofs? What is wrong in spreading one’s own religion? Absolutely, there is no mistake. No Hindu will object to hear. Enriched with sayings of multitudes of Rishis and Paramahamsas, dialogues of Sadhus, welfare statements of intellectuals, experiences of realized Siddhas, preaching of Babas, there is absolutely no problem to hear from couple more. To respect a couple more is not at all burdensome. But, one need not leave his religion to venerate others. Though we respect other women as Mothers, we need not leave our Own Mother! One of these conversion religions realized that it will be very tough to get away from those deep-rooted traditions and customs. Hence, they are adopting very nasty means. Similar to Hindus, they are adapting to religious ablutions, shaving heads, offerings, and lamp (candle?) lighting, circum-ambulations, fasting festivals etc. Their preachers are creating chaos with their hotchpotch. They are installing their symbol higher than the temple tower (Gopuram) of a very famous Hindu temple and constructing propaganda centers around that temple on hillocks, forests etc. by illegal means with foreign funds. It is routine for them to create pandemonium organizing congregations announcing festivals hitherto unknown especially on Hindu festival days. These festivals definitely are provoking acts to Hindu Dharma. A Hindu should remain tolerant to all these ‘Sisupala’ actions like heckling at Tirumalesa, mocking at Rama, ridiculing Krishna, insulting Divine Mother, abusing Siva etc. Anyhow, their alternate strategy is to raise hue and cry about Hindus religious intolerance. They even have the audacity to distribute their pamphlets and books near Hindu temples to devotees standing in queues there. Recently, this happened in Kashi near Lord Vishwanatha temple. We should stay indifferent to these acts. Lot of cases are being revealed from colleges wherein youth are trapped under the cover of love and encouraged for marriage after conversions. These strategies are unknown to Hindu parents who don’t teach their children Hindu Dharma against those who are filling their children with love towards their own religion and unnecessary hatred towards other religions. Apart from looking all the above from religious point of view, even those thinkers interested in the progress of this country shall never excuse this attitude. These are acts to incite animosity! Crooked commentaries linking completely unrelated things with claims that their God finds mention in our Vedas and providing wily inferences at their will may help to cheat commoners. Can they really face scholars? For that matter, let their religion pontiffs in foreign countries announce that the origin of their religion is also Vedas?

Page 6: AArsha Vani - Samavedam Shanmukha Sarma...Each name in itself is a great mantra. Hanumān – Hanu [ means jaw or cheek. Hence, literal meaning of Hanāman is one who has great jaws.

Then, is it not better to appreciate our sages vision and far-sightedness who mentioned something of today and then adapt Hindu religion which is based on Vedas? Another principal aspect of their vile strategy is to identify, accuse and scandalize those pontiffs, swamijis, intellectuals who can influence Hindu masses making a mountain out of a mole, then propagate through their own funded channels to tarnish their reputation. This is being done hoping that commoners might lose faith on Hindu Dharma. Another very astonishing

fact – These conversionist religions target Hindu religion only. They don’t go into the vicinity of other religion. Why? Because, they know well that it would endanger their very existence. Danger to religions due to these conversions is a vain discussion. But, threat to this country is high. Nevertheless, roots of these conversion religions are abroad. Their very nature is usurping and ruling dominions. Those living with their fund support work tirelessly to divide this country, arouse hatred among families and religions, and orchestrate communal violence. Kashmir, North-eastern states are towering proofs for this truth! Volumes are facts that are buried with the support of leaders and media. It is an earnest appeal to note that no other religion or their doctrine is insulted in this article. It is not the attitude of Hindu Dharma. Motivation for this article is to see everyone from every caste and religion work together towards the progress

of this country. Let’s realize the facts clearly - breakups in relations, families and immense threats that these conversions are causing! Let’s take care before they develop further!

Nava Nārasimha Ahōbilam is extolled in Puranas as the most sacred and divine abode of

‘Nārasimha’. When Lord came in this unique Narasimha form that never existed before, all the Gods expressed amazement at His ‘Power’, ‘Form’, ‘Effulgence’, ‘Compassion’ and said, “Ahō Balam, Ahō Rūpam, Ahō Tēja:, Ahō Bhakta

Vātsalyam.’ Prahlāda described this power as indescribable and beyond the

comprehension of mind and senses. Even before Prahlāda, many sages

worshipped Nārasimha. Scriptures mention 32 forms of Nārasimha, out of which nine forms are described here -

The Nine Nārasimha are

1. Jwāla Nārasimha 2. Ahōbila Nārasimha 3. Mālōla Nārasimha 4. Krōdha

Nārasimha 5. Karan̄ja Nārasimha 6. Bhārgava Nārasimha 7. Yōgānanda

Nārasimha 8. Chatravata Nārasimha and 9. Pāvana Nārasimha.

1. Jwāla Nārasimha – At the center of Achalachchāya mountain between

Garudāchala and Vedāchala, there is ‘Jwāla’ Nārasimha resplendent with the effulgence of thousands of Suns.

2. Ahōbila Nārasimha – This is the principal deity form in Ahōbilam. The one

with ‘Ahōbalam’ is present in ‘Ahōbilam’ i.e. cave. ‘Nārasimha’ is present in the heart cave of every being i.e. Nara.

3. Mālōla Nārasimha – ‘Mā’ is Mother Lakshmi. ‘Mālōla’ is Lakṣmī Nārasimha.

4. Krōdha Nārasimha – ‘Krodha’ is ‘Varāha’. Varāha is the sustainer i.e.

provider of all kinds of foods. He is the embodiment of Yajña. Nārasimha is

the form of Jñāna. Krōdha Nārasimha is the amalgamation of everything that is required here for mundane and hereafter to reach the Supreme.

5. Karan̄ja Nārasimha – That form of Narasimha existing under a Karan̄ja (Indian beech tree) is called Karan̄ja Narasimha. ‘Karan̄ja’ also means the nail

of a tiger. Hence, one can worship the form of Nārasimha as wearing the nail of a tiger. ‘Sāraṅga’ is the name of Viṣṇu’s bow. As this form of Nārasimha holds bow, this form is also known as ‘Sāraṅga Narasimha’

6. Bhārgava Nārasimha – When Bhārgava (Parasurāma) performed severe

penance, Lord appeared before Him. That form is known as ‘Bhārgava

Nārasimha’. Whoever performs worship here gets infinite merits. Hence, this place is also known as Akṣaya tīrthaṁ i.e. place that yields benefits which never perish.

7. Yōgānanda Nārasimha – Out of compassion, Lord Nārasimha imparted the

knowledge of Yōga to His beloved devotee Prahlāda. That form is known as

‘Yōgānanda Nārasimha’. This form faces South, that which in itself is an indication of teaching Brahmavidya.

8. Chatravata Nārasimha – This form of Nārasimha has banyan tree as the shade. This form faces East. Worshippers of this form shall be blessed with immense wealth.

9. Pāvana Nārasimha – Worshipping this form of Narasimha grants one’s

dharmic wishes. - Samavedam Shanmukha Sarma.

śiva jñānaṁ – Samavedam Shanmukha Sarma.

Viśvaguru viśvēśvara Part 19 1

Let’s observe at a mundane level how leading by example, the philosophy of Śiva provides cardinal directives for the glorification of an individual - The holistic grandeur of complete familyhood is found in the family of Śiva. Strong family bonds are observed in Śiva’s

family. Maybe, Śiva is the only God with a complete family! He is a great Yogi. His wife is Ādi Śakti Annapūrna who has motherly affection towards everyone. Moreover, She is highly powerful. Their mutual love is phenomenal. Both are independent in their own way. Their marriage embeds respect for one another. Both command equal respect. As much respect Lord Śiva commands, Mother also maintains Her independent status. Even Rukmini Devi (the consort of Lord Krishna) prayed to them – “Nammiti nā manammuna sanātanulaina uma mahēśulan mimmu purāṇaṁ dampatula mēli bhajintu” (I put faith in you both – Uma and Mahēśa – the eternal couple – and offer prayers). Among the couple, there is never any question about one’s greatness. Both have equal weightage. Hence, they both share even their body. How magnanimous the Dharma and love of wedlock expressed in ‘Arthanārīśvara’ form? Even their children are accomplished. One effortlessly destroys obstacles whereas another single-pointedly leads the army of Gods with discipline and obtains victories. Lo, there is another wonder in this Kailāsa! Though enmity between bull

and lion is natural, Śiva’s Nandi and Divine Mother’s Lion are friendly. Likewise, snakes on Śiva are friendly towards Gaṇapati’s mouse. Peacock of Kumaraswāmi makes friendship with snakes. Everybody left their natural enmity and conduct with love in the presence of Śiva keeping home peaceful. That means – ‘Love is Śiva’ (Anbe Śivam) – the principal doctrine of Saivism is predominantly seen in the family of Lord Śiva Himself.
