The role of Green space Network to improve

The quality of life in Egyptian cities. Case study of Cairo city.

Abstract:

The Egyptian city especially Cairo suffer from a shortage in green spaces and a damage

of the existing public space , which causes the deteriorating of urbanization and poor quality of

life in the city. This shortage has increased rates of community dissatisfaction with the city

performance

This research aims to clarify the role of green spaces network as an approach to solve

the urban shortage of green spaces problems, and its impact on improving the quality of life in

Cairo city. Through a review of Green strategy of Sydney city (2030) along with displaying the

existing condition of public green spaces in Cairo and the possibilities and constraints of the

green space network implemented.
