This event is licensed by the Amateur Athletic Union of The U.S., Inc. All participants must have a current AAU membership. AAU

membership may not be included as part of the entry fee to the event. AAU Youth Athlete membership must be obtained before

the competition begins. BE PREPARED! Adult and Non Athlete memberships are no longer instant and cannot be applied for at

event. Please allow at least 10 days for membership to be processed. Participants are encouraged to visit the AAU website

Equipment Requirements

1) Mouth guard

2) White Naugahyde/Leather fist guards

3) AAU Approved White Headgear with FaceShield

1) White breast shield under gi.(Female Competitors)

2) Open Face Headgear

3) Cloth Shin Pads (Adult Competitors)

4) Cloth Shin/Instep Pads. (Junior Competitors)

Uniform Requirements

This is a Traditional Karate Tournament so All com-

petitors must wear a Traditional White Gi without

stripes or piping. Sleeves and Cuffs must not be

rolled up. Pants and sleeves must be 3/4 Length

from the knee to the ankle or elbow to wrist. Fe-

males Must Wear Plain White T-shirt or White Sport

Bra under Top. No Headbands or Jewelry allowed.

Age of Athletes :

The age division that you sign up for must be the age you will

be as of July 1st 2019 This is due to fact that this is the qualifi-

er for the AAU National Championships held July 5th through

July 9th. If age is challenged, please be able to produce proof

of age, such as a birth certificate, passport, etc.

Events:

Kata (Forms), Kumite (Sparring), Kobudo (Weapons).

The entry fee covers all of the above listed events. Competitors

may compete in any or all events.

Rules:

All sparring divisions will be using AAU Karate Sanban Rules.

All Katas must be traditional Okinawan or Japanese.

Awards:

Gold, Silver, and Bronze Medals will be presented for 1st

through 3rd place in each event.

In some cases we will award ribbons for places 4th through 8th

place.
