- Abaco Hollow Plate Scissor Clamp is especially designed to use with a crane (or a forklift truck) to clamp, lift and move hollow plates.- The clamping mechanism is fully automatic.- The contact surfaces for the clamping jaws are covered with rubber layers to protect the plate from scratching and to increase the gripping force while in operation.- The device ensures safety and increases productivity.

- Abaco Hollow Plate Scissor Clamp is made of steel.

WARNING: Before using the Abaco Hollow Plate Scissor Clamp, please confirm the surfaces of the lifting material to be lifted are flat, smooth, and free from dust, oil, or any kind of such harmful substances which allow slipping for lifting.a) For :Abaco Hollow Plate Scissor ClampCaution:- Carefully consider and follow all the safety regulations and applicable laws in your country for the operations.- It is strongly recommended that only employees who are highly trained, experienced are allowed to operate this device. Safety rules and regulations must be strictly followed and respected.- Lift up the hollow plate slowly. If the plate is not balanced, lower the clamp, adjust and lift again.Warning:- Inspect the Abaco Hollow Plate Scissor Clamp carefully and thoroughly. If the rubber layers of clamp plates are worn-out or damaged, do not use.- This device is designed for lifting hollow plate ranging from (10 to 60 mm). Determine the weight of the plate to be lifted. Do notexceed the W.L.L. (Work Load Limit) shown on the page 1.- All employees must stand within safety area while material are being lifted or moved.- Check the rubber layers are free from dirt, grease and other substances that may spoil their effectiveness.- Do not lift wet material. The grip depends on friction. Lifting wetplate may cause the rubber layers to lose their grip.- No more than one piece should be lifted at any time.

III. :INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE1. :Safety Instructions

- Position the clamp at the center of the plate to be lifted, so that the load is balanced (figure 2.1, page 10).- Make sure that the hollow plate is inserted to the full depth into the opening of the clamp (figure 2.2, page 10).b) :General Safety InstructionsCaution:- In order to protect from any accident, it is important to follow safety rules and regulations.- Read and comprehend the operation manual carefully before using.- Make sure that the operation manual is always available beside the place where the clamp is used.- Abaco Hollow Plate Scissor Clamp Give permissions to operate only to the persons who are well-trained and competent to work.- such as Use appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) helmet, gloves, and safety boots, etc.- Abaco Hollow Plate Scissor Clamp Ensure that the has No Damage functionally and is ready to be operated safely in the safe working conditions.- Repairs and checks are to be made only by qualified persons.- If any part worn-out, replace with a new one or contact the manufacturer if necessary.- Clean the device thoroughly after using.- Store the clamp in a well-ventilated place, avoid places with highheat or humidity.WARNING:- Never leave your loaded Abaco Hollow Plate Scissor Clamp unsupervised.- Never allow yourself or anybody to go under the lifting hollow plate.- Be sure to check the clamp and its accessories duly and periodically, there should be no damage or loosening of fasteners or/any irregular unfunctional sound, also before using reconfirm those points once again, then use the clamp.- Confirm all the welded joints are free from any defects or damage, such as separation, crack, and so forth.

c. :About Automatic locking latchAutomatic locking system consists of a cam lock which rotates each time the device is lifted, either to clamp-on or to release the load. It is important not to allow dust to go inside, inspect and lubricate it (with machine oil) periodically to ensure its function properly.

Preliminary Safety Checks:“Competent Person” shall check the following before each use.

WARNING:- The Abaco Hollow Plate Scissor Clamp is correctly installed/ hung in the right manner described in this operation manual and to be operated in safe working conditions.- The swivel shackle is correctly and securely installed and tightened accordingly.

Step 1: (Figure 1.1).Hook the clamp Hook the to a forklift truck Abaco Hollow Plate Scissor Clamp (figure 1.1). (In this particular case using a forklift boom.) Note: Locking lever should be unlocked before hanging the clamp to the forklift (figure 1.2) (appendix page 13).Warning: Do not use hands for installing the clamp to a crane or to a forklift.

Move the clamp to the hollow plate (figure 1.3).

Lower the clamp to grip the joint plate in the hollow plate (figure 2.1), (figure 2.2) insert slab to touch the stopper and the swivel shackle is loosened. The automatic locking latch releases the clamp plates to grip the hollow plate tightly. Then, lock the hand locking lever down by pulling the rope as in the (figure 2.1, 2.3).Note: Position the clamp securely and at the center of the plate so that the load is balanced.

Step 3: Move the joint plate (Figure 3.1).

- Lift the joint plate slowly to ensure the load is balanced (figure 2.4). Note: If the clamp jaws do not grip the joint plate firmly and securely when lifting, lower the clamp, recheck the status, and lift it up again.

- Move the joint plate to the desired location.- All personnel must be kept at a safe distance and stand clear of the clamp and plate while it is being lifted or moved.

Step 4: Release the material from the clamp:Unlock the hand locking lever by pulling up the rope as in the figure 4.1, 4.2. Lower the plate until the clamp and Swivel Shackle are loosened, the automatic locking latch shall lock the clamp plates open. Then move the clamp away from the plate.Cautions:- Before lowering the plate, make sure there are no obstacles to interfere with.- If the clamp did not release the plate, lift the clamp up and down again to disengage the automatic locking latch.

I . :V APPENDIX

- While the locking lever is locked, the clamp jaws shall always grip the hollow plate and shall not release, makes the automatic lock system ineffective.- If the locking lever is unlocked, the clamping mechanism is fully automatic.

2. How to install a rope:

1. Install a rope to the hole of the locking lever.

2. Install one end of the rope to the slit of the capstans.

V. TECHNICAL PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS:

VI. INSPECTION & MAINTENANCE:- Schedule periodical maintenance for the clamp, especially the rubber layers of clamping jaws, and automatic locking latch.- for maintenance or Always keep necessary spare parts on handrepair.- Check and tighten the nuts and bolts on regular basis.- keep the clamp clean and away from grease or other Alwayssubstances as they may reduce the effectiveness of the rubber pads and cause them lose their grip.- Schedule periodic maintenance checking for overall and for welded part, no cracking, or any defects.- Store in dry and cool place, avoid places with high heat or ahumidity.

Technical problem Cause Solution

Automatic locking latch does not worksmoothly.

Dust and/or rust.Clean the automatic locking latch, lubricate or replace with a new one.

It’s hard to grip the plate.

Joints of lever and clamp arms are dusty or rusty.

Clean up the joints and apply oil.

The rubber layer of the clamp jaw is damaged.

The rubber layer is worn or deformed.

Change with a new clamp.

VI. WARRANTY:At the time of delivery, it is necessary to inspect Abaco Hollow

Plate Scissor Clamp to make sure that it has not been damaged during shipment. Any claims must be submitted within 8 days from the date of delivery. We provide a warranty on the one (1) yearAbaco Hollow Plate Scissor Clamp from the date of purchase.

During warranty period, we will provide the replacement parts at no charge (shipping and handling fees may apply).

Warranty coverage is :void if- The operator failed to comply with the instructions in the manual.- The specifications are not followed.- Damage is due to inadequate maintenance and inspections.- Damage is due to improper storage and/or usage.- Repairs were performed by the user without our permission.- Non-original spare parts were used.
