Your Legal Rights UnderThese Limited WarrantiesThe warranties contained in this booklet are the onlyexpress warranties that Chrysler Group LLC ("Chrysler")makes for your Abarth. These warranties give youspecific legal rights.You may also have other rightsthat vary from state to state. For example, you may havesome implied warranties, depending on the state whereyour Abarth was sold or is registered.These implied warranties are limited, to the extentallowed by law, to the time periods covered by theexpress written warranties contained in this booklet.If you use your Abarth primarily for business orcommercial purposes, then these implied warranties donot apply and Chrysler completely disclaims them to theextent allowed by law. And the implied warranty of fitnessfor a particular purpose does not apply if your Abarth isused for racing, even if the vehicles is equipped forracing.Some states do not allow limitations on how long an impliedwarranty lasts, so the above limitations may not apply to you.1.1 Incidental and ConsequentialDamagesNotCoveredYour warranties dont cover any incidental orconsequential damages connected with your Abarthsfailure, either while under warranty or afterward.Examples of such damages include: lost time; inconvenience; the loss of the use of your Abarth; the cost of rental vehicles, gasoline, telephone,travel, or lodging; the loss of personal or commercial property; and the loss of revenue.Some states dont allow incidental or consequentialdamages to be excluded or limited, so this exclusionmay not apply to you.52.What's Covered UnderChrysler Group LLC'sWarranties2.1 Basic Limited WarrantyA. Who Is Covered?You are covered by the Basic Limited Warranty ifyou are a purchaser for use of the Abarth.B. Whats CoveredThe Basic Limited Warranty covers the cost of allparts and labor needed to repair any item on yourAbarth when it left the manufacturing plant that isdefective in material, workmanship or factorypreparation. There is no list of covered parts since theonly exception is tires.You pay nothing for theserepairs covered by the Basic Limited Warranty. Thesewarranty repairs or adjustments including all partsand labor connected with them will be made by yourauthorized FIAT repair facility at no charge, using newor remanufactured parts.C. Items Covered by Other WarrantiesThe following are covered by separate warrantiesoffered by their makers.They are not covered by theBasic Limited Warranty: tires;or items added or changed after your Abarth left themanufacturing plant, such as accessories orprotection products, or items changed because ofcustomization.WHAT'S COVERED UNDERCHRYSLER GROUP LLC'S WARRANTIES6Be sure you get a copy of any warranty that appliesto these items from your dealer, or from the maker ofthe product.You can find the tire warranty state-ments in your Owners Literature Package.D. Towing Costs Are Covered Under CertainCircumstancesThe Basic Limited Warranty covers the cost of towingyour Abarth to the nearest authorized FIAT repairfacilityif your vehicle cant be driven because acovered part has failed.If you choose to go toanother dealership, you will be responsible for thecost if the extra distance exceeds 10 miles.SeeSection 6.2 for information on how to get towingservice in the United States and Canada.E. When It BeginsThe Basic Limited Warranty begins on either of thefollowing dates, whichever is earlier: the date you take delivery of the Abarth; or the date when the Abarth was first put intoservice for example, as a dealer demo or as aChrysler company vehicle.WHAT'S COVERED UNDERCHRYSLER GROUP LLC'S WARRANTIES7H. If Your Abarth Leaves the United States(We Include U.S. Possessions and Territoriesas Part of the United States for WarrantyPurposes):EXCEPT WHERE SPECIFICALLYREQUIREDBYLAW,THEREISNOWARRANTYCOVERAGEONTHISABARTHIFITISSOLDINOR REGISTEREDINCOUNTRIESOTHERTHANTHEUNITEDSTATES.This policy does not apply to a Abarth that hasreceived authorization for export from Chrysler.Dealersmay not give authorization for export.You shouldconsult an authorized dealer to determine Abarth'swarranty coverage if you have any questions.This policy does not apply to an Abarth registered toU.S. government officials or military personnel onassignment outside of the United States.F. When It EndsThe Basic Limited Warranty lasts for 4 years from thedate it begins or for 50,000 miles on the odometer,whichever occurs first.G. Registration and Operation RequirementsThe Basic Limited Warranty covers your Abarth only if: it was built for sale in the U.S.; its registered in the U.S.; its driven mainly in the U.S. or Canada; and its operated and maintained in the mannerdescribed in your Owners Manual.WHAT'S COVERED UNDERCHRYSLER GROUP LLC'S WARRANTIES82.2 CorrosionWarrantyA. Who Is Covered?You are covered if you are a purchaser for use oftheAbarth.B. What's CoveredThis warranty covers the cost of all parts and laborneeded to repair or replace any body sheet metalpanels that have been perforated by rust from theinside out. If a hole occurs because of somethingother than corrosion, this warranty does not apply.Cosmetic or surface corrosion resulting, forexample, from stone chips or scratches in the paint is not covered. For more details on what isnt coveredby this warranty, see 3.4.C. How Long It LastsThe Corrosion Warranty starts when your BasicLimited Warranty begins under 2.1(E).For bodysheet metal panels, the limit is 12 years, with nomileage limit.WHAT'S COVERED UNDERCHRYSLER GROUP LLC'S WARRANTIES92.3 Restraint System Limited Warranty(Abarth sold and registered in theState of Kansas only)For an Abarth sold and registered in the State ofKansas,seatbeltsandrelatedseatbeltcomponentsare warranted against defects in workmanship andmaterials for 10 years, regardless of mileage.Thiswarranty does not cover replacement of seatbelts andrelated components required as the result of collision.WHAT'S COVERED UNDERCHRYSLER GROUP LLC'S WARRANTIES103. What's Not Covered3.1 Modifications Not CoveredA. Some Modifications Dont Void theWarranties But Arent CoveredCertain changes that you might make to yourAbarth, by themselves, void the warrantiesdescribed in this booklet. Examples of some ofthesechangesare: installing non-Chrysler Group LLC ("Chrysler")parts, components, or equipment (such as a non-Chrysler radio or speed control); and using special non-Chrysler materials oradditives.But your warranties dont cover any part that was noton your Abarth when it left the manufacturing plant oris not certified for use on your vehicle. Nor do theycover the costs of any repairs or adjustments that mightbe caused or needed because of the installation or useof non-Chrysler parts, components, equipment, materi-als, or additives.Performance or racing parts are considered to be non-Chrysler parts.Repairs or adjustments caused by theiruse are not covered under your warranties.Examples of the types of alterations not covered are: installing accessories except for genuineChrysler / MOPAR accessories installed byan authorized FIAT repair facility;WHAT'S NOT COVERED11 applying rustproofing or other protectionproducts; changing the Abarth's configuration ordimensions, such as converting the vehicle intoa limousine; or using any refrigerant that Chrysler hasnotapproved.B. Modifications That WILL Void YourWarrantiesThese actions will void your warranties: disconnecting, tampering with, or altering theodometer will void your warranties, unless yourrepairing technician follows the legal require-ments for repairing or replacing odometers; or attachinganydevicethatdisconnectstheodometer will also void your warranties.3.2 Environmental Factors Not CoveredYour warranties dont cover damage caused by environ-mental factors such as airborne fallout, bird droppings,insect damage, chemicals, tree sap, salt, ocean spray,acid rain, and road hazards. Nor do your warrantiescover damage caused by hailstorms, windstorms,tornadoes, sandstorms, lightning, floods, and earth-quakes.Your warranties do not cover conditions resultingfrom anything impacting the Abarth.This includescracks and chips in glass, scratches and chips inpainted surfaces, or damage from collision.WHAT'S NOT COVERED12WHAT'S NOT COVERED corrosion caused by the extensive or abnormaltransport of caustic materials like chemicals,acids, and fertilizers; and corrosion of special bodies, body conversions,or equipment that was not on your Abarth when itleft the manufacturing plant or was not supplied byChrysler.3.5 Other ExclusionsYour warranties dont cover the costs of repairingdamage or conditions caused by any of the following: fire or accident; abuseornegligence; misuse for example, driving over curbs oroverloading;3.3 Racing Not CoveredYour warranties dont cover the costs of repairingdamage or conditions caused by racing, nor do theycover the repair of any defects that are found as theresult of participating in a racing event.3.4 Certain Kinds of Corrosion NotCoveredYour warranties dont cover the following: corrosion caused by accident, damage, abuse,or Abarth alteration; surfacecorrosioncausedbysuchthingsasindustrial fallout, sand, salt, hail, ocean spray andstones;13WHAT'S NOT COVERED tampering with the emission systems, or with a partthat could affect the emission systems; use of used parts, even if they were originallysupplied by Chrysler (however, authorized Chrysler /MOPAR remanufactured parts are covered); windshield or rear window damage from externalobjects; any changes made to your vehicle that dont complywith Chrysler; or using any fluid that doesn't meet the minimumrecommendations in your Owner's Manual.3.6 Total Loss, Salvage, Junk, or ScrapVehicles Not CoveredAn Abarth has no warranty coverage of any kind if: the Abarth is declared to be a total loss by aninsurancecompany; the Abarth is rebuilt after being declared to be atotal loss by an insurance company; or the Abarth is issued a certificate of title indicat-ingthat it is designated as salvage, junk,rebuilt,scrap, or some similar word.Chrysler will deny warranty coverage without notice ifit learns that an Abarth is ineligible for coverage foranyofthesereasons.143.7 Restricted WarrantyYour warranties can also be restricted by Chrysler.Chrysler may restrict the warranty on your Abarth if thevehicle is not properly maintained, or if the vehicle isabused or neglected, and the abuse or neglect interfereswith the proper functioning of the vehicle.If thewarranty is restricted, coverage may be denied orsubject to approval by Chrysler before covered repairsare performed.WHAT'S NOT COVERED154. Other Terms of YourWarranties4.1 Exchanged Parts May Be Used inWarranty RepairsIn the interest of customer satisfaction, Chrysler GroupLLC ("Chrysler") may offer exchange service on somevehicle parts. This service is intended to reduce theamount of time your Abarth is not available for your usebecause of repairs. Parts used in exchange service maybe new, remanufactured, reconditioned, or repaired,depending on the part involved.All exchange parts that might be used meetChrysler standards, and have the same warranties asnew parts.Examples of the kinds of parts that might beserviced in this way are: engineassemblies; transmissionassemblies; instrument cluster assemblies; radios, tape, CD and DVD players; speedometers;and powertrain control modules.Tohelpcontrolsuspectedozone-depletingagents, the EPA requires the capture, purifica-tion, and reuse of automotive air-conditioningrefrigerant gases. As a result, a repair to thesealed portion of your air-conditioningsystem may involve the installation of purifiedreclaimed refrigerant.OTHER TERMS OF YOUR WARRANTIES164.2 Pre-Delivery ServiceA defect in or damage to the mechanical, electrical,sheet-metal, paint, trim, and other components of yourvehicle may have occurred at the factory or while it wasbeing shipped to the dealer.Such a defect or damageis usually detected andcorrected at the factory. In addition, dealers mustinspect each vehicle before delivery. They repair anydefects or damage detected before the Abarth isdelivered to you.4.3 ProductionChangesChanges may be made in Abarth vehicles sold byChrysler and its dealers at any time without incurringany obligation to make the same or similar changes onvehicles previously built or sold.OTHER TERMS OF YOUR WARRANTIES175. Emission Warranties RequiredBy Law5.1 Federal Emission WarrantyA. Parts Covered for 2 Years or 24,000 MilesFederal law requires Chrysler Group LLC("Chrysler") to warrant the following emissionsparts for 2 years or 24,000 miles, whichever occursfirst.Chrysler covers all of these parts under theBasic Limited Warranty for 4 years or 50,000 miles,whichever occurs first. Air system controls; distributoranditscomponents; electronic fuel injection system, including injector; evaporative-emissioncanisterandcontrols; exhaust manifold; exhaust gas recirculation valve and control system; exhaust pipes (between exhaust manifold andcatalyst); fuel cap and tank assembly, pump, and fuel lines; ignition coil and ignition module; intake manifold; on-boarddiagnostic-systemcomponents; oxygensensors; positive crankcase-ventilation (PCV) valve or orifice; secondary ignition wires; sparkplugs; throttlebody; transmission-control module; vacuum hoses, clamps, and fittings, as well astubingusedforthesecomponents; vacuum, temperature, altitude, speed, time-sensitivevalves,sensors,andswitchesusedinthesecomponentsandsystems.EMISSION WARRANTIES REQUIRED BY LAW18B. Parts Covered for 8 years or 80,000 milesIf your Abarth has one of the following parts, thisFederal Emission Warranty covers that part for aperiod of 8 years or 80,000 miles, whichever occursfirst, calculated from the start of the Basic LimitedWarranty as set forth in Section 2.1(E). The coveredparts are: catalytic converter; and powertrain control module.5.2 EmissionPerformanceWarrantyThis warranty supplements the federal warranty under5.1.It lasts for 2 years or 24,000 miles on the odometer,whichever occurs first. If your Abarth has one of thefollowing parts, catalytic converter and powertraincontrol module, this Federal Emission Warranty coversthat part for a period of 8 years or 80,000 miles, whicheveroccurs first. These limits are counted from the time whenyour Basic Limited Warranty begins under 2.1(E). TheEmission Performance Warranty covers the cost ofrepairing or adjusting any components or parts that mightbe needed for your vehicle to pass Federal EmissionStandards for a federally approved state or local emissionstest, but only if: your Abarth has failed a federally approved stateor local emissions test; your Abarth has been maintained and operatedproperly up until it fails such a test; and you face a real penalty for example, a fine orthe loss of the use of your Abarth because thevehicle has failed the test.Section 6.4 explains how to get service under this war-ranty.EMISSION WARRANTIES REQUIRED BY LAW196. How to Get Warranty Service6.1 Where to Take Your AbarthA. In the United States (We Include U.S.Possessions and Territories as Part ofthe United States for Warranty Purposes):Warranty service must be done by an authorizedFIAT repair facility.We strongly recommend thatyou take your Abarth to your Selling Dealer.They know you and your Abarth best, and aremost concerned that you get prompt and highquality service.If you move within the UnitedStates, warranty service may be requested fromany authorized FIAT repair facility.B. In Canadaand Mexico:If you are traveling temporarily in Canada or Mexico,and your Abarth remains registered in the UnitedStates, your Chrysler warranty still applies.Servicemay be requested at any authorized FIAT repairfacility.C. In a Foreign Country Outside of NorthAmerica:If you are traveling temporarily outside of NorthAmerica, and your vehicle remains registered in theUnited States: You should take your Abarth to an authorizedFIAT repair facility.They should give you the samewarranty service you receive in the United States.HOW TO GET WARRANTY SERVICE20D. If You Move:If you move to another country, be sure to contact theFIAT Customer Assistance Center (section 7.2) andthe customs department of the destination countrybefore you move.Abarth importation rules varyconsiderably from country to country.You may berequired to present documentation of your move toChrysler in order to continue your warranty coverage.You may also be required to obtain documentation fromChrysler in order to register your Abarth in your newcountry.E. Notice:If your Abarth is registered outside of the UnitedStates, and you have not followed the procedure setout above, your vehicle will no longer be eligible for If the authorized dealership charges you for repairswhich you feel should be covered under yourwarranty, please get a detailed receipt forthe workdone.Make sure that this receipt lists all warrantyrepairs and parts that were involved. (This receiptwill be similar to the one used by the authorized FIATrepair facility who normally services your vehicle.) When your Abarth returns to the United States,contact the FIAT Customer Assistance Center(section 7.2) for reimbursement consideration. Youwill normally need to provide a copy ofthe receipt,your Abarth registration and any other relevantdocuments. Reimbursement will not be considered if the Abarthdoes not return to the United States.MAINTENANCE PROGRAM HOW TO GET WARRANTY SERVICE21MAINTENANCE PROGRAMwarranty coverage of any kind.(Abarth vehiclesregistered to United States government officials ormilitary personnel on assignment outside of the U.S.will continue to be covered.)6.2 How To Get Towing AssistanceService - U.S. or Canada Only *A. What To Do:If your Abarth requires towing due to a defectcovered under the Basic Limited Warranty, dial toll-free 1-888-242-6342.Provide your name, vehicleidentification number, license plate number, and yourlocation, including the telephone number from whichyou are calling.Briefly describe the nature of theproblem and answer a few simple questions.HOW TO GET WARRANTY SERVICEYou will be given the name of the service providerand an estimated time of arrival.If you feel you are inan "unsafe situation", please let us know.With yourconsent, we will contact local police or safety authorities.B. If Unable to Contact 24-Hour TowingAssistance:If you are unable to contact 24-Hour Towing Assis-tance and you obtain towing services on your own,you may submit your original receipts from thelicensed towing or service facility, for servicesrendered within 30 days of the occurrence.Be sure to*TowingservicesprovidedthroughCrossCountryMotorClub,Inc.,Medford,MA02155,exceptinAK,CA,HI,OR,WI,andWY,whereservicesareprovidedbyCrossCountryMotorClubofCalifornia,Inc.,Medford,,MA02155.22include your vehicle identification number, odometermileage at the time of service and current mailingaddress.We will process the claim based on vehicleand service eligibility.If eligible, we will reimburseyou for the reasonable amounts you actually paid,based on the usual and customary charges for thatservice in the area where they were provided.Chrysler Group LLC's determination relating toreimbursement are final.Correspondence should bemailed to:Chrysler Towing AssistanceP.O. Box 9145Medford, MA 02155Attention:Claims Department6.3 EmergencyWarrantyRepairsIf you have an emergency and have to get a warrantyrepair made by someone other than an authorized FIATrepair facility, follow the reimbursement procedure in6.1(C).6.4 Getting Service Under the FederalEmissionPerformanceWarrantiesA. What to DoIf your Abarth has failed an emissions testdescribed in 5.2: Take it to an authorized FIAT repair facility as soonaspossible.HOW TO GET WARRANTY SERVICE23 Give the service representative the printoutshowing that your Abarth failed the test. If possible, bring all service receipts, maintenancelogs, and records proving that your Abarth hasbeen properly maintained, since you may berequired to show them.B. Further Steps You Can Take, and How toGet More InformationIf you think your authorized FIAT repair facility haswrongly denied you emission-warranty coverage,follow the steps described in 7.1. InGeneralNormally, warranty problems can be resolved byyour dealers sales or authorized FIAT repair facilitydepartments. Thats why you should always talk toyour authorized FIAT repair facility service manageror dealers sales manager first. But if youre notsatisfied with your dealers or authorized FIATrepair facility response to your problem, ChryslerGroup LLC ("Chrysler") recommends that you do thefollowing:HOW TO DEAL WITHWARRANTY PROBLEMSStep 1: Discuss your problem with the owner orgeneral manager of the dealership or authorized FIATrepair facility.Step 2: If your dealership or authorized FIAT repairfacility still cant resolve the problem, contact the FIATCustomer Assistance Center. Youll find the address insection 7.2.B. What Chrysler Will DoOnce you have followed the two steps described in7.1(A), a Chrysler representative at Chrysler headquar-ters will review your situation. If its something thatChrysler can help you with, Chrysler will provide yourdealer with all the information and assistance necessaryto resolve the problem. Even if Chrysler cant help you,Chrysler will acknowledge your contact and explainChrysler's position.25C.
