Abbey Cambridge is a highly successful GCSE and A-level college dedicated to helping students from across the world achieve the personal, social and academic growth needed for success at university and beyond. We live and breathe our school vision of being a community energised by the love of learning and the pursuit of outstanding achievement for all.
The college was established in 1994 and demand for places has increased each year; we now accommodate 350 students in our well-equipped city
centre site. I am delighted to announce that we will relocate to our new campus which will open in September 2016; a purpose-built school with on-site boarding, designed by the staff of Abbey Cambridge to precisely fit the needs of our students.
Students from over 25 countries are currently studying at the college and they tell us that they have chosen Abbey Cambridge because of the incredible academic results and commitment to helping all students achieve success. The A-level pass rate is indeed very impressive with the A*-B grades being consistently over 80% in the last ten years and the A*-A 60% or above in the last nine. These results enable the vast majority of our students to progress to the ‘Russell Group’ of leading UK universities and one in four students to enter the very best universities the UK has to offer: Cambridge, Oxford, LSE, Imperial and UCL.
DR. JULIAN DAVIES, PRINCIPAL
Welcome to Abbey College Cambridge!
We are delighted that the UK schools inspectorate have awarded us the prestigious title of ‘Outstanding School’ for achieving the top grade in all twelve judgements across all the activities of the school from teaching to student boarding.
This is a very exciting time to be a member of the Abbey Cambridge learning community. I hope this brochure helps you to understand more about us and inspires your next step in your own educational journey.

STARTING LIFE AT ABBEY CAMBRIDGE
IN THE BEST POSSIBLE WAY
Living away from home is an exciting challenge for international students. This is why we have our unique ‘Induction Week’ to help our students to adapt to living a new life in a new country, and all that it involves.
Students praise the Induction Week as being a valuable time to understand
British culture, make friends and establish themselves into the community, before
they start their timetabled classes.

In addition to the Induction Week, we also offer a course for an even more comprehensive introduction. Before arriving for their chosen courses in September, many of our students decide to join us for a six week ‘Welcome to England’ Abbey Cambridge Summer School.
Much more than simply an opportunity to improve their written and spoken English,
the ‘Welcome to England’ Summer School prepares students for a new life in
a new country.
Our summer school students meet and interact with their new students friends and teachers, and become fully integrated into life in Cambridge before the start of term.

62% of our recent A-level grades were either A* or A, and 83% of the grades were either A*, A or B.
One in four of our A-Level students progressed to one of the top five British universities. Our younger students gained our best ever GCSE results: 34% of the grades were either A* or A, and 70% were A*, A, B or C. It should come as no surprise then, that we’re proudly celebrating eleven consecutive years as the highest performing of all sixth-form colleges in Cambridge, and Ofsted clearly agree, giving us the top rating of ‘Outstanding’ in every area in 2014
