1. Go over the Chat list.

2. Click on the down arrow that appears.

3. Click Privacy Settings.

4. Select the Circles you want to be able to chat with.

How to use Google plus for chat?

1) Go to the Google+ toolbar near the top of your webpage browser and click on your name. In the box that pops up, click "Circles."

How to make circles in Google plus?

2) This will open your Circles page in a new window. Drag a friend into the "Drop here to create a new circle" space.

3) Drag other friends in your group to the same circle. When you're finished, click "Create Circle.“

4) Type in a name for your circle and click "Create circle with # people.“

5) Your circle now pops up as an actual circle in your profile. Feel free to drag more friends into the circle to expand it! Learn how to import your Facebook friends to Google+ to start networking with more people.

You have to click “Add circles or people to share with” and then you will be provided with options to choose circles (if you have already created them) or choose people by email.
