ABOUT QSSFounded in 2013, the Queen’s Startup Summit is a rapidly growing initiative invested in preparing our generation for the changes in tomorrow’s business landscape. Our mission is to institution-alize a culture recognizing talent and passion that inspires and enables entrepreneurship.
The summit attracts budding young minds from various fields of discipline, provides the resourc-es required to excel, and ensures a vigorously competitive environment.
In partnership with the Smith School of Business, the Queen’s Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science, and the Queen’s Innovation Connec-tor, we are impassioned to attract the very best young entrepreneurs Canada has to offer. By bringing together aspiring designers, developers, and startup enthusiasts, the summit encourages collaboration in an environment that fosters cre-ativity and synergy.

TO THE POTENTIAL SPONSORS OF THE QUEEN’S STARTUP SUMMIT,
Every year at the Queen’s Startup Summit we work hard to accomplish three goals –goals that we believe distinguish our mission at QSS. At bottom, we can measure ourachievement of these goals with three simple questions. The questions are:
1) Have we done everything in our power to offer our delegates the most rewarding 72- hour competition possible?
2) What is something about this year’s competition that we are unhappy with and how will this motivate us moving forward?
3) What is something we are proud of and how can we maintain this success in future summits?
This process of self-evaluation is what sets us apart from other competitions of thisnature. We are a startup competition that runs very much like a growing startup, andthis is why we continue to crush application record numbers year after year.
2016-2017 will be our fifth year organizing the Summit and every single year prior tothis one we have grown significantly. After this year, the QSS Alumni Network willnumber over 400 of Canada’s brightest young-entrepreneurial minds; an active networkthat has enabled QSS-2013’ alumni to share job opportunities with QSS-2016’ alumni; anetwork that serves as an intellectual-hub, where members know they can find thetalent they need for projects they are working on – this is the QSS network, likemindedindividuals impassioned about innovation, daring to disrupt. An extension of the QSSAlumni Network is the QSS following – an audience of over 1,000 students looking todive into entrepreneurship.
