Growing UpAs a child I loved to read books. When you opened up my drawers, books would pile out onto the floor. Other activities I enjoyed were swimming, gymnastics and participating in my school plays.I was always such a goofball and loved to make a mess of everything.

This women right here was my mothers best friend and one of my mentors. She helped me grow and nourished me from birth and taught me many lessons that help me today. When my mother was in college, she was always there to take care of me and keep me entertained. She was one of the most amazing people I had ever met. Her name was

Kathy and she died two years ago after a long battle with lung cancer. There isn't a day that goes by that she doesn’t cross my mind.

I also lived with my two grandparents and was pretty much raised by them.They did everything with me and taught me everything I know.While my parents were away at school and work I stayed home with my grandparents and helped them cook and with gardening.

Family is extremely important to us.

The Big 7When I was 7 years old, my life was changed forever.I had always wanted a younger sister and my dreams had finally come true.My little sister, Shaden, was born in the summer of 1999. I dedicated all my time to her and even now, I take care of her every single day.

Red Cross Club

In my senior year of high school I decided to start my own club called The Red Cross. I wanted to find a way to reach out to people overseas and help the unfortunate. It took a lot of effort and time to get this club started and ready to go. Forming this club was probably one of the hardest tasks I had to achieve in High School.

I am attending Virginia Tech in the fall and hope to major in Biology with a

Drake is one of those special people. Not only has she been an amazing teacher but an inspiring women to look up. She has always pushed me

forward and helped me advance in everything that I have done. She has been the one person that has always believed in me and importantly
