About the Alternative Christmas Market
The Christian tradition, especially during Christmas, includes sharing in ways that promise
renewal for ourselves and others. The purpose of the Alternative Christmas Market is to
provide people with the opportunity to give Christmas gifts that will bring the true joy of
Christmas to the giver, the recipient and to those who are in need.
With the market, everyone has the opportunity to:
• Visit information booths to find out more about the various missions our church supports.
Bring your children and grandchildren to help them learn about giving to the community.
• Decide which missions you wish to support and fill out the price sheet.
• Support your favorite causes with a financial contribution by check, cash or credit card.
Cash or check payment avoids service fees.
• Select a card and insert that describes the contribution you made for the people on your
shopping list. You can use the card and insert as your Christmas gift. 100% of your
contributions are sent to the organizations you specify.
The gifts are representative of the services provided by the organizations and the
organization is informed of the specific gift you selected.
Your gift makes a difference
COME. BUILD. HOPE.
Amor Ministries
Price Gift Description
$20 Shingles A roll of roofing shingles to cover a
$30 Box of Nails A box of nails to hold the home together.
$80 Add a Door A door for a family’s new home.
$200 Stucco a Home Two coats of stucco to complete a
family’s new home.
When Amor Ministries began in 1980, many of the
poorest families were sending their children away to
orphanages because they could not provide for them.
Orphanages were filling up with children whose
parents loved them, but lacked the resources to take
care of their general needs. After encountering this
reality, Amor’s Founders decided to offer an
alternative. For the last thirty-eight years, Amor
Ministries’ main purpose was and continues to be to
provide adequate housing to keep families together. In
addition to helping make life easier by providing a
home, we share the grace and love of Jesus by
providing security, safety, and stability to families who
would otherwise be without.

Grace Vista Presbyterian Church
About Grace
God is a God of Love. In grace, God
chooses to show love and mercy. When
we were dead in trespass and sin, God
made us alive with Christ, saving us by
grace through faith, as a sheer gift of
sovereign love.
The first question which the priest and the Levite asked was: “If I stop to help this man,
what will happen to me?” But...the good Samaritan reversed the question: “If I do not
stop to help this man, what will happen to him?” —Martin Luther King, Jr.

From the founding of our nation, Presbyterian Chaplains, along with
clergy from many faith groups, have served the Armed Forces of our
country with distinction. Early on, however, the need to establish
standards for clergy serving in the military became evident; therefore,
the religious community and the military established an “Ecclesiastical
Endorsement” (certification) for all chaplains serving the men and
women in the Armed Forces. The Department of Defense now defines
the requirements for all religious leaders who wish to serve as chaplains.
The PCCMP helps our denominations ensure that our ministers meet and
maintain DoD standards.

Young Life is a world-class organization for young
people. Young Life began when a young pastor, Jim
Rayburn, decided it was time for people of faith to step
outside the church building and walk across the street to
the local school. He was convinced this was the best
way to reach young people who otherwise might never
hear an accurate account of the Gospel. Seven decades
later, were crossing streets all over the globe into
teenagers worlds to build relationships with them.
Our staff and volunteers enter the world of adolescents,
focusing on what matters to them: fun, adventure,
friendship and a sense of significance. In doing so, we
earn the privilege of talking to them about something
that we believe matters most of all: the truth about God
and His love for them.
