• Our grantmaking program strives to: – Identify promising ideas, initiatives and tools that address
the needs of physicians in multiple practice arrangements– Offer solutions and actionable insights to help physicians
maintain success within their ideal practice setting– Support physicians and medical professionals in their
delivery of quality patient care

– Intensive training for chiefs of staff, committee members, department chairs and other physicians to increase their leadership knowledge and skills
• University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill – Develop an open source, web-based projection model to estimate
whether current and future physician supplies will meet population healthcare needs at the state and national level
• Health Leads – Initiative to expand and deepen Health Lead's core model of providing
services that will improve the health of poor and disadvantaged patients and families

– Create infrastructure to support Physicians Resource Center for Vermont physicians
• Wisconsin Medical Society Foundation – Develop physician, employer and insurer partnerships to study

• Next Generation Physician Survey (2012) – Polled 500 young physicians (aged 40 and under) to gauge sentiment
about future of U.S. healthcare system and their own practice experiences
• Health Reform and the Decline of Physician Private Practice (2010) – Surveyed 100,000+ physicians and found strong negative feelings
towards new healthcare reform law
• The Physicians’ Perspective: Medical Practice (2008)– Examined how the state of medical practice is shifting and factors
driving an increase in doctor dissatisfaction

U.S. will provide America’s physicians with a clear voice on the most pressing healthcare issues facing the nation
