abrasive blastingin the
mining industry
Abrasive blasting using the Quill Falcon Kwikblast® Dustless
Blasting System is the ideal process for prolonging the life
and performance of a wide range of mining equipment, machinery
and structures.
It reduces the effects of corrosion and other forms of abrasion, caused by
operating in extreme heat conditions, excessive wear and tear, and exposure
to chemicals and other corrosive materials. Abrasive blasting enables
affected surfaces to be effectively and efficiently stripped back to a corrosion-free base that can then be primed and
protectively coated.
The Quill Falcon Kwikblast® Dustless Blasting System is the ideal preparation
for repainting and re-coating all types of mining machines and apparatus, as abrasive blasting also effectively strips away old layers of paint and
contaminants so that new paint and coatings can adhere effectively to the
newly-profiled surface.
We combine our wet abrasive blasting services with industrial coating
application, which means that mining equipment can be protected against
harsh working conditions and can continue to function effectively and
efficiently, reducing downtime as well as the need for costly repairs and
replacement.
At Australian Enviroblast (AEB), we are able to offer onsite abrasive blasting
and industrial coating services that include full encapsulation and
waste disposal so that other work onsite is able to continue, while
our accreditation by the EPA also means that we are able to operate in
environmentally-sensitive areas.
We are able to tackle jobs of all sizes, from delicate or intricate machinery, to
large storage tanks, to earthmoving and mining equipment, and our experience
and expertise means that we can guarantee completing all work to your
satisfaction and specifications.
Abrasive Blasting for Mining Equipment and Machinery
Dustless blasting with the Quill Falcon Kwikblast® Dustless Blasting System is highly effective at stripping old layers of paint and coatings, and any other type of contaminant, from all types of surfaces, including steel, concrete and brick.
Abrasive blasting ensures that corrosion and other imperfections are blasted away from the surface, profiling it so that new layers of paint and industrial coating can be applied onto a thoroughly clear and even surface, ensuring better adhesion and therefore a longer, more effective lifespan.
Our dustless abrasive blasting is ideal for use in a wide variety of applications on mining sites. It can be used to clean and preserve a large range of machinery, equipment and structures, including:
mining machinery, both large and smallearthmoving equipment, such as excavators, dozers and wheel loaders
mining transport, such as dump trucks and trailersplant and equipmentflare towers and tanksbuildings and bridges
pipelinesstorage tanksprocess tanks
any type of steel, brick or concrete surface
Corrosion-resistant surface treatments are essential to extending the life of metal machinery and equipment in
environments where corrosion is a constant threat, be it from extreme
temperatures, moisture, chemicals or salt spray. Effectively treating metal surfaces in this way gives them far
greater protection against the weather and other dangers.
At Australian Enviroblast (AEB), we specialise in the application of
industrial coatings that protect treated surfaces, components and equipment from the effects of corrosion and other forms of degradation, and we are able
to use and apply a wide variety of coatings to meet your needs and the
demands of the work environment.
Industrial coatings improve both the appearance and longevity of
equipment and machinery in harsh environments, and in conjunction with our abrasive blasting services, provide
comprehensive protection against corrosion, abrasion and the impact of chemicals and weather for all types of
structures and materials, particularly steel structures, components and
machines.
Abrasive blasting with the Quill Falcon Kwikblast® Dustless Blasting System
means that surfaces are prepared and profiled so that newly-applied paint
and protective coatings can be at their most effective, adhering better and for
longer. Any coating will ultimately fail if the surface is not properly treated and
prepared, and so wet abrasive blasting makes sure that coatings stay in place
and offer continued protection for valuable plant and machinery.
Protective Coating
Powder CoatingPowder coating is an alternative to traditional spray painting. Paint is applied as a dry powder, made from a mixture of finely-ground pigments of colour and resin, which is then heated and so creates a coating on the surface. Powder coating creates a hard and tough finish that is stronger than conventional paints, produces less waste, and creates a range of finishes and colour schemes.
We offer powder coating as a complement to our abrasive blasting services. After stripping and cleaning mining machinery and equipment, we can improve its protection against harsh operating conditions and the environment by finishing the job with powder coating. Powder coated surfaces
are longer-lasting, resistant to chips and scratches, don’t fade as quickly, and don’t flake or peel.
All of this combines to make powder coating the ideal finish for mining equipment, machinery and structures that are used in harsh Australian conditions.
Spray PaintingWe are able to offer an onsite spray painting service for mining machinery and equipment to complement our dustless blasting surface cleaning and preparation.
At Australian Enviroblast (ABE), we can spray paint all types of mining equipment, machines and structures.
The Quill Falcon Kwikblast® Dustless Blasting SystemAbrasive blasting using the Quill Falcon Kwikblast® Dustless Blasting System is an environmentally-friendly solution to the removal of corrosion and contaminants that uses far less water than other forms of abrasive blasting and reclaims all the media used during the process. In addition, no dust is produced and so no encapsulation is required, meaning that other work can be carried out at the same time.
Wet abrasive blasting is environmentally friendlyAustralian Enviroblast is licensed by the Environmental Protection Agency and adheres to its high standards of environmental safety with regards to air quality, noise, water quality and waste management. In addition, our operators are experienced in working at heights and in other types of hazardous situations.
About UsAustralian Enviroblast was founded in 2009 by Mark Chiappin with the aim of introducing environmentally-friendly wet abrasive blasting services to the Australian mining industry.
Using the revolutionary and technologically-advanced Quill Falcon Precision Dustless Kwikblast® System, the Australian Enviroblast team of trained and skilled operators is able to remove a wide range of coatings, corrosion and residues from all types of mining equipment and structures, while leaving surfaces clean and contaminant free. We have vast experience of jobs both large and small in al sectors of the mining industry.
