ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENTS

Among the 4 students to be awarded IET India regional Scholarship for western region designed to reward

individual excellence and innovation among undergraduate engineering students (2013)

Secured All-India Rank 702 amongst more than 5,00,000 candidates in IIT JEE (2011)

Ranked among top 0.1% of successful candidates of CBSE in Mathematics and Hindi (2008)

Pursuing minor in Industrial Design Centre

INTERNSHIPS

INTERACTIVE DEFORMATION OF MOLECULAR STRUCTURES (May-Jul 2013)

Prof Stephane Redon, Group Leader-NANO-D, INRIA Grenoble, France

Awarded gratification from Campus France, French national agency that works for promotion of higher education

Adapted an algorithm designed in "As Rigid as Possible Surface Modeling" for interactive molecule deformation

Implemented prototype code for 3D visualization of deformation of flexible molecules as rigidly as possible

The code is incorporated in SAMSON, software platform developed for modeling and simulating nanosystems

EFFECT OF POLYMER ON TURBULENT INTERMITTENCY (Dec 2013- present)

Prof. Samriddhi Sankar Ray, International Centre of Theoretical Sciences- TIFR, Bangalore

Examined the effect of drag reduction due to polymers addition in decaying turbulence

Developed a systematic understanding of the effect of the suppression of small scale structures (via polymers) on

the intermediate scale intermittency as a function of the polymer relaxation time and the polymer concentration

Observed variation in reduction of energy losses on addition of varying polymer concentration in turbulent flow

Verified previous results using Finitely Extensible Nonlinear Elastic - Peterlin (FENE-P) model of polymeric flows

KEY PROJECTS

RESIDUAL PROPERTIES VARIATION (Dec2012)

Prof Sandip Roy, Chemical department, IIT Bombay

Carefully studied the 3-parameter corresponding states principle proposed by Pitzer that are used to correlate

the volumetric and thermodynamic properties needed for process design

Examined variations of residual thermodynamic properties with reduced parameters and acentric factor

Verified the values for Residual internal energy and enthalpy in the Lee-Kesler tabular form using Matlab

Processed the data of same, which are adapted in the book “Chemical Engineering Thermodynamics”

BIOSYNTH: STUDENT BIODIESEL INITIATIVE (May - June 2012)

Student Initiative of installing biodiesel plant at IIT Bombay

Worked under the guidance of Prof S Mahajani to figure out the end point of trans-esterification process

Performed experiments to extract biodiesel from waste vegetable oil and sunflower oil

Conducted extensive evaluations to ensure adherence of produced biodiesel with current ASTM standards

AMAN DAY CARE CENTRE PROJECT (Nov 2012)

Under Prof Raja Mohanty, IDC, IIT Bombay

Worked with children at the crèche, understanding their perception and visualization of outside world

Introduced them to different forms of artwork and cultural activities
