National Youth Week at

Araluen!

We have been celebrating

our students this week for

National Youth Week!

Everyone enjoyed a free

BBQ on Monday, as well

as a free pen (and

sunglasses for primary

and a drink for middle

school). Well done to the

Year 5 and 6 class for

their excellent cooking

and serving of the BBQ –

great to see how happy

you all were to help! You did

a fantastic job.

On Tuesday, thanks to a

grant from the NT

Government, the middle

school students took part in

a poetry workshop by

Cameron Semmens. Cam is

a leading poet in Australia,

having published 16 books

and won multiple awards.

The grant helped us fly Cam

up to Alice Springs and he

ran three workshops, sharing

some of his poetry, teaching

how to write creative and

powerful poetry and

giving our young people a

unique way of expressing

themselves. We thank

Cam for coming to

Araluen and spending

time with our middle

school!

All of our students are

amazing people who we

greatly value and we’ve

enjoyed celebrating them

this week!

Thanks!
