What is using CoStar about?
I use Costar every couple of days. Its less about spending hours in front of it, it’s more that in the space of ten minutes, you can identify an appropriate area of London, if you’re looking at something that’s on offer, that you know is comparable, and you’re not dragging in different parts of the market that you would only know, really, if you were on the ground. Costar allows you to draw those distinctions very quickly, and run simple reports that help drive a decision.
Do you feel there is more of a human connection at CoStar than in other data organisations?
Sure! When I speak to the analyst I can ask him about individual data points. I know why he’s used that data, I know what he thinks of the data, so there’s a very good relationship. They present regularly, we talk regularly, and that’s crucial.
