Schneider Electric brings

Access to Energy for 45,000

primary school pupils in

Kenya!

Schneider Electric has electrified 128

rural schools throughout Kenya in

2015. It represents more than 45,000

primary school pupils that now have

access to energy for their education

needs.

Now students enjoy power for lighting and charging of electronic

devices thus giving a seamless learning experience.

Led by Schneider Electric General Manager in East Africa, Mr.

Edouard Heripret, this project confirms the commitment to

support communities, Access to Energy and Access to Education.

Schneider Electric provided Bridge International Academies in

Sinai – Muruku Slum with an off-grid solar PV System.

training 1 million people by 2025 thanks to Don Bosco’s training

centre

A further 49 students are expected to graduate next year, showing a powerful upswing of this

program that continues with the extension of the partnership to a 2 further Don Bosco training

centers!

Schneider Electric and its Foundation has equiped an

Electric and Solar Energy Laboratory and will implement:

• a 3 year qualifying Diploma in Electrical and

Electronics Engineering

• an accredited course "Electrical wireman and Solar

Installations”,

• a 3 month certificate course “Solar Photovoltaic”

leading to a certification.

In addition, Schneider Electric will upskill the capacity of trainers at ECT through training of trainers.

invested. 50% of the team is based out of the Nairobi office in Kenya.
