Access to the PIN Reports is available through PirateNet in the “My New Reports” channel. Instructions are as follows. Please note: access to the PIN Reports is available on campus only. However, the PIN report can be printed out in either PDF or Excel format. To access the PIN Reports, please log in to PirateNet (by clicking on the PirateNet link on the University website (http://www.shu.edu) and click on the PirateNet button:

Once in the PirateNet portal: 1. Click on the Resources tab

2. Scroll down to the My New Reports channel and Click on Cognos Reports Portal login:

3. Access the Cognos Login Screen. You will be prompted to enter your PirateNet credentials once again.

4. Click on IBM Cognos content and uncheck “Show this page in the future”

5. View the “Public folders” tab. This is the screen that displays once you uncheck the check box on

the previous page. Click on “Student.”

6. Click on “Registration Pins.”

7. Click on “Registration PIN.”

8. Select a Term, College and Student Level. Major and Admit Type are optional. Scroll down and

select “Run” at the bottom of the screen.

9. After selecting “Run,” the report will appear on your screen in HTML format. You can use the drop

down arrow next to the HTML icon (2nd icon from the right, below the blue header bar), to save your report as either PDF or Excel format. If you choose the Excel format, you will also have to pick a version of Excel. For best results, click on “View in Excel 2007 Format.”

If you choose PDF, the report will open up in the default PDF viewer on your computer, such as Nitro or Adobe, and you will be able to print or save the report using the icons at the top of the report.

If you choose Excel, you will get the following prompt on your screen, where you can either choose to “Open” the report in Excel or “Save” it on your computer.
