How? What? When? Why? Where? What Thereafter? ) On the mentioned date and time, Diamond building concierge on duty, James Emp No# 121197 received the information from resident of the same building Apt No# 502 that there was smoke coming from lower Apt No# 402. Action Taken: Immediately the said concierge informed the matter to control room as well as security team leader Joseph Emp No#5078 who was on patrolling nearby the building at that time. Joseph along with swimming pool S/G Imran Emp No# 9663 rushed to balcony of Apt No# 502 to check & confirm. It was confirmed that there was dense smoke due to potential fire. Immediately Joseph activated MCP from staircase corridor near apartment 502.The same matter was informed to the senior security supervisor Hareesh who immediately called the civil defence (997) from mobile number 0551322658 at 17.45 hrs and further authorised the evacuation with the backup of ERT (emergency response team). Fire wardens went door to door informing residents to evacuate the building to the nearest assembly point by 17:52hrs (head count was 30). In the meantime, information from control room was confirmed that diamond 402 was un occupied with fit out work being carried out inside unit. ERT broke the main door of the said apartment to got access to the balcony. Burning plant pot was found with massive smoke. There were cigarette buds also seen inside & around the pot. One empty cigarette packet was also found near plant pot in balcony. ERT extinguished fire using 02 fire extinguishers from nearby fire hose cabinet.
Once fire was extinguished by ERT, evacuation was stopped & all clear message was conveyed by emergency manager. Assembly point controller then briefed residents to return to their apartments by 17:55 hrs.
Meanwhile Civil Defence came at around 17:58hrs with vehicle Reg# H-75474 followed by Ambulance with vehicle Reg# P-49168 at 18:03hrs along with Nakheel Security vehicle Reg# D-83075. DCD officer Mr. Mohammad (from Al Marsa Station) went to apartment 402 & inspected balcony. He found situation under control & informed to get in touch with Dubai
Police for further proceedings in this regard. Also he collected the EID copies of Akhil Gupta Wasl AFM & S/G Imran for record & left tiara by 18:20 hrs. Police officers came with vehicle Reg# 4811 at 18:27hrs and waited for the contractor/owner to come. At around 18:30hrs fit out company supervisor arrived and police officers along with him went to the apartment. After site inspection, Police advised us to contact them at Al Barsha police station for any further support if required and left the community at around 19:10hrs.
A dedicated security officer was assigned at Diamond 402 apartment in addition to apartment being cordoned off. Wasl representative got in touch with Owner of diamond 402 & briefed them about fire incident. An email communication was also sent to owner on their registered email address officially informing them about the incidence & lapse on their contractor’s part
At around 19:24hrs Mr. Kyle, fit out contractor manager came to Wasl office at Tiara Residence and met Mr. Osman. Upon discussion he agreed to repair the main door of the apartment 402. As instructed by Mr. Osman, on 10th august at 09:15hrs undersigned along with the fit out contractor went to the apartment and confirmed that they have cleared all the materials from the balcony then allowed them to continue the renovation work.
All the Incident & updates was escalated to Wasl Management as well as Emrill Management.
