Mariner Middle School Breezing through the summer has been 13U Sean Clendaniel from Mil- ton, Del. For some 13 year olds, the transion to the big field can be very difficult. The fastballs that were once geng by hiers suddenly are now singles and doubles. Even though the 13U club has pitched great this season tossing two No-Hiers and posng an ERA just under a 4.00, there has been one player in parcular who is on a tear, that being Clendaniel. This season, in 37 innings of work, the righty is 5-0 with four complete games, 40 Ks, 11 BBs, and an eye opening 1.102 ERA. Sean is the son of Charlie and Robin Clendaniel who also have an older son, Tyler who was quite the ballplayer as well. Keep up the great work, Sean! #GoAces KIDS FREE CAMP HOSTS 75 YOUNG BALLPLAYERS! As many of our Aces fans already know, throughout the year, our organizaon usually hosts 2-3 KIDS FREE NIGHTS at our Indoor Training Facility in Berlin, Md. This summer, we decided to try something different and host a KIDS FREE CAMP for ages 6-10. Even though it may have been the hoest day of the summer, 75 campers showed up to learn some skills and technique from our very own in- structors. The camp was split up into three fields at Sports at the Beach where it was led by Coach Dave, Coach Mike, and Coach Marshall who all led specific drills for hing, pitching, and fielding. And of course, the day was capped off by a massive pool/ pizza party. All in all, the whole day was a success! TRYOUTS SHOW BIG NUMBERS ACROSS ALL AGE GROUPS With the tryouts for the 2016-17 season being under- way for a week, the amount of kids that have showed up are higher than ever! So far, the Aces have had try- outs at Lower Sussex Lile League, Berlin Lile League, and Sports at the Beach, with sll another day at Sports at the Beach, Harrington Lile League, and West Salis- bury Lile League. While we are just halfway through tryouts, there have been more than 200 players already tryout! Big num- bers right there. While we expect another 100 players to tryout this week, we will be filling 22 teams this up- coming year.

KIDS FREE CAMP HOSTS 75 YOUNG BALLPLAYERS! As many of our Aces fans already know, throughout the year, our organization

usually hosts 2-3 KIDS FREE NIGHTS at our Indoor Training Facility in Berlin, Md.

This summer, we decided to try something different and host a KIDS FREE CAMP

for ages 6-10. Even though it may have been the hottest day of the summer, 75

campers showed up to learn some skills and technique from our very own in-

structors.

The camp was split up into three fields at Sports at the Beach where it was led by

Coach Dave, Coach Mike, and Coach Marshall who all led specific drills for hitting,

pitching, and fielding. And of course, the day was capped off by a massive pool/

pizza party. All in all, the whole day was a success!

SOUTHERN DELAWARE FOOT & ANKLE

FIRST ANNUAL PROSPECT SHOWCASE

DRAWS ATTENTION!

On June 30th, 14 college coaches gathered at Sports at the Beach

to spend five hours evaluating 37 players ranging 15U-17U, in

hopes that they can help their current baseball program. While

there was a wide variety of levels represented between the coach-

es, it also showed a well-balanced lineup. The variety of coaches

ranged from Junior College as well as Division I, II, III.

After speaking with some of the coaches, there will definitely a

good deal of players who will be getting some sort of call or email

from one or a few respective school(s). Although this showcase

was primarily to expose players to coaches, there was also a learn-

ing portion which was led by the coaches.

Prior to the live game that was played, Aces staff spread out and

set up four sectors involving pitching infield, outfield, and catching.

Players were able to pick a specific group which was led by a hand-

ful of coaches who went over what works for them in their pro-

gram or what they look for in certain players. This 15 minute in-

structional piece showed to be very beneficial and popular as many

of the players started to raise their hand and ask questions.

All in all, for the first time running a showcase it turned out to be

very worthwhile as each of the coaches plan on attending the

event next year! Until then, we’ll be working on getting these play-

ers to the next level.

PARKING LOT IN FULL SWING

It took a handful of months, but just a couple weeks ago,

ground was broken on the east side of the facility. The or-

ganization is ecstatic to bring this addition in this upcoming

year. We truly understand how poor our parking situation

was in our first two years and applaud all of you for making

it work the best you could.

This lot is just one of the additions we are adding in this

upcoming year. Also, a huge thank you to Ollie Hitchens and

his help and support in this process! Again, we thank you

for understanding and doing the best you could on those

busy academy nights. When the lot is ready to be parked in,

we will send out an organizational email. Thank you!

A huge thank you to SOUTHERN DELWARE FOOT & ANKLE
