tent of the revised Guideline. The guideline draft and key changes were presented to a wide audience at the National

World IDD day was celebrated in Sindh on 31st October. A new Sindh Nutrition Cluster Coordinator has commenced in late October. Dr Shahid Hanif will be sitting two days per week with the Nutrition Cell. A Sindh nutrition cluster meeting is planned in last week of November, which will mainly be focusing on 2014 CMAM plans as well as Nutrition PC-1 implementation.

SC graph also—please add Qutab Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Update

The Nutrition Cluster is currently sup-porting provision of nutrition services through 92 nutrition centres (against the Humanitarian Operational Plan 2013 target of 100) for IDPs in three camps (Jalozai-4 centres, Togh Sarai-1 centre and New Durrani-1 centre). In addition for off-camp IDPs there is one centre each in 21 Union Councils (UC) of Dera Ismail Khan, 15 UCs of Kohat, 10 UCs of Hangu, 24 UCs of Peshawar,7 UCs of Nowshera and 9 centres in Kurram Agency of FATA. The OTP cure rate is 95 per cent and the Supplementary Feeding Programme (SFP) cure rate is 97 per cent, both ex-ceeding sphere standards. In the month of October two new imple-menting partners (LIFE and SSP ) have commenced CMAM and IYCF interven-tions in Tank district of KP province.

  • Balochistan Update

In October 2013, nutrition emergency intervention is implemented through 66 CMAM sites (20 OTPs, 46 SFPs). 10 stabilization centers are also functional in the province. Capacity building is vitally important to enhance the ability of individuals and institutions to perform functions, solve problems, and set and achieve ob-jectives in a sustainable manner. Provincial Nutrition Cell with the financial support from UNICEF orga-nized a five day training on CMAM in the districts of Naseerabad & Jafferabad, training 76 Health Care providers on the said protocol during (27 August to 01 September, 2013). The value of capacity building is clearly in the legacy it leaves of skilled master trainers and HCPs who are resources for future train-ing, education and advocacy. This is a key element in the sustainability of nutrition services in the dis-trict. In the month of August 2013 PAOBK has commenced services in the early recovery UCs of districts Naseerabad & Jafferabad. Currently there are 46 SFPs and 20 OTPs and 06 ATFCs functional in these two districts providing Nutrition Services to the Chil-dren & PLWs.WFP has started a blanket SFP to earth-quake affected households in Awaran and Kech dis-tricts.

OTP: A total of 144 OTP sites are functional in 12 districts of Punjab in October 2013. . The OTP performance indi-cators show a cured rate of 79 percent, which exceeds the sphere standards.
