As an innovative company we use our collective knowledge

are from the automotive industry and the mechanical engi-

HOW IT ALL STARTED

With more than 13 years of development experience Peter

Ackermann started onto the path to self-employment, in

1990. Only six years later, he founded the company Acker-

mann CAD-Konstruktions GmbH, which has been steadily

expanding ever since. Right from the start, the Ackermann

Konstruktions GmbH has provided its customers with

forward-thinking, high-performance, and state-of-the-art solu-

tions in a highly dynamic area.

KNOWING WHAT MATTERS

Our team of mechanical engineers, mechanical engineering

technicians, and design draftsmen all draw upon their exper-

tise for innovation in order to drive development projects, to

speed up manufacturing processes, and with a view to maxi-

mizingpossible synergies.Through the use of CAD technolo-

gies, such as CATIA V5, Siemens NX (formerly Unigraphics)

and CreoElements (formerly Pro/Engineer) our experts can

respond to your individual requirements with great flexibility

whilst being able to provide competent solutions fast, no

matter whether it is internally within our own company or

on-site at the customers’ premises.

CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT

We take care of the entire development

stage of your project - from developing a

concept via designing a basic model and

a virtual prototype up to a physical

prototype. The development is tailored

to your requirements and will always

reflect the state-of-the-art of develop-

ment expertise and any development will

benefit from our many years of experi-

ence in this industry.

3D-CAD DESIGNS

With our 3D-CAD designs we achieve

a very high degree of precision already

in the development phase. Therefore

you will benefit, perhaps sooner than

expected, from opportunities to opti-

mize details regarding issues of

strength, weight and manufacturing.

We also include in our design an

adjustment of constructed space in

DMU (package investigation) as well

as kinematic examination and models

fully controllable by parameters.

CAD DRAWING CREATION

2D drawing creation requires a high

degree of precision as it forms the

interface between design and manu-

facturing. Our ready-to-manufacture

drawings will provide you with details

form shape and position tolerances,

as well as surface finishing and infor-

mation on the selected material.

Drawing control will be done accord-

ing to the German DIN standard.

FEM/CFD CALCULATIONS

We will carry out reliable solid state

simulations for you so that you can

manipulate the ideal strength-to-weight

ratio of the component, very early on.

up-to-date FEM/CFD calculations as

well as virtual CNC processing simula-

for bending, drawing, and stamping tools via embossing tools

up to welding calibers and test gauges.

with you, we will choose suppliers, take care of deadline

tracking and quality control according to your specifications

and will construct highly resilient parts up to the pilot produc-

3.1 VEHICLE DEVELOPMENT - SHOWROOMACKERMANN CAD

VEHICLE DEVELOPMENT

For the development of the Citroen C4 we were able to use

our know-how in the design of axles: On behalf of our custom-

ers we have designed and developed the entire assembly.

A leading sports car manufacturer has given us assembly

responsibility for axles, air-spring suspension system and

auxiliary chassis.

Apart from the design we were also tasked with project man-

agement and have accompanied this development project

successfully to mass production.

For OPEL we have also “put the pedal down”: On behalf of our

customer we developed several prototype axles und mock-ups

for this car manufacturer and have carried out this project in

cooperation with our suppliers and tool makers.

Today we are one of the leading compa-

nies in the area of exhaust systems.

Due to more than 20 years of experi-

ence with the particularities of exhaust

systems and our expertise involved in

their design and development.

Therefore we are a highly valued part-

ner for manufacturers such as Ferrari,

AMG, Lamborghini and for the entire

motor racing sports. Our members of

staff have derived and filed innovative

patents from numerous development

projects.

As such, we have provided many

projects with development activities as

well as project support.In this area we

Lamborghini, Ferrari, BMW and Mer-

cedes – are just some of our OEM

customers in this area. In our develop-

ment projects we have focused on insu-

lation of engine and exhaust heat as well

as acoustic shielding of assemblies.

Thanks to our profound experience we

are able to create designs for appropri-

ate insulation plates that are optimized

as early as in their first draft with a view

to ideal tool design – which, in turn,

results in enormous cost saving effects

for our customers.

Our portfolio of services also includes

design and construction of appropriate

deep drawing tools and forming tools,

always taking into account the specific

parameters of a particular assembly.

ACKERMANN CAD3.5 VEHICLES - SHOWROOM

VEHICLES

In 2006, we constructed one of the most spectacular racing

motorcycles with a boxer engine at the time, for the company

PACKPARTS. 135 HP and 171 kilograms (with a full tank) are

the key data of the NB2. With full throttle, the NB2 raced

straight to first place and took the overall lead. Ackermann CAD

Konstruktions GmbH was responsible for the complete propri-

etary development of this project.

The whole frame with chassis was developed and constructed

entirely by us. We thus gained extra available space for the

airbox which was designed and laminated for maximum perfor-

mance and the exhaust system was perfectly attuned to the

powerful high-performance engine and was manufactured by

our company.

GAUGES AND DEVICES

Accurate checking gauges enable

precision-testing of your products and

will meet all quality requirements. Our

engineers will make full use of these

possibilities. Among other tools, we

design and construct saw guides,

welding calibres and checking gauges.

MOUNTING BRACKETS

We provide solutions for your package

problems – with finely tuned solutions

which we will check for strength and

any vibration problems by using FEM-

Analysis which will provide solid data.

Subsequently, we shall make any
