His hobbies were fishing and gardening. As a youth his zest for life was exemplified in achievements as an Eagle Scout and Life Guard. He loved videotaping his grandchildren and listening to jazz.

Rest NowNo more sorrow will be mine,

No more burdens will I bear,

No more heartaches will I endure,

Weighted down with endless care.

Rest, now.

While here on earth I did my best;

A friend to all I tried to be.

This day, no regrets I have,

While you here look at me.

Rest, now.

No more will I fret and worry,

About what a day might bring,

I go now to a City,

Where God’s holy angels sing.

Rest, now.
