Development of DC Power House is one more great effort
of ACME in this direction. ACME has specially launched
this solution for green energy - serving emergency power
supply. With intelligent use of this innovative product of
high efficiency, energy saving and environmental friendly,
the running cost is greatly reduced. At Telecom site, when
there is no utility power, the DC output of DCPH not only
ensures the telecom grade power supply for the load but at
the same time charges the battery and thereby meets the
constant power demand for telecommunications devices.
In the pursuit of excellence, this product has been
conceptualized and engineered to address not only the
optimum consumption of fuel (diesel) at varying loads but
also in the process helps bridging the ever widening gap
that exists between electrical power supply and demand
in developing countries. Relative saving in fuel burning as
compared to the conventional AC Diesel Genset results into
considerable reduction in CO2 emission. With intelligent
use of DC Power House, ACME also achieves its corporate
mission “Technology talking to the environment” and also
earns Carbon Credits.
Concept and Technology of DC Diesel Generator has evolved
out of following facts:
>>Most conventional AC Diesel Gensets are heavy,
space-consuming, noisy machines. Run at constant RPM
irrespective of load applied, they consume higher amounts
of fuel resulting in poor fuel efficiency.
>> In a conventional AC generator, SMPS is required to
convert AC to DC. This results in conversion losses of 10-15
percent.
>> AC Gensets runs at 20-25 percent of their rated capacity
during the initial years, leading to more consumption and
emissions. This is a drain on the operational expenditure of
the operator, and is also energy-inefficient and unfriendly to
the environment
>> For telecom network penetration into rural areas having
little or no-grid availability, initial investment for other back-
up power solutions like Solar, Wind, etc. is too high
Features
>> ACMEs DC Power House can reduce fuel consumption
by 30-40 percent compared to a conventional AC Diesel
Generator.
>>It provides 48V DC that can be directly used by telecom
loads such as BTS and battery, thereby removing any loss in
conversion and resulting in considerable saving on CAPEX
and OPEX
>> Compared to a conventional AC Diesel Generator, ACME
DC Power House is almost half in weight and size, and so
needs much less space.
>> Offers the cheapest and most efficient of all Back-Up-
Power solutions
>> MTBF & operational reliability of DC Diesel Gensets
better than ACDGs
>> DCPH has provision to integrate with Network
Monitoring System (GEMC) designed and installed at ACME
HQ (Gurgaon, India). Unique features offered include:
remote real-time access, monitoring and control of various
parameters (load, alarms, fuel consumption, break down –
action taken report/closure, MTTR, MTBF, Billing, tracking
of Preventive maintenance schedule, spares tracking, DCPH
auto start /stop, etc)

ACME’s Product Line ATPL’s pioneering R&D endeavors, aimed at developing a comprehensive range of cost and energy-efficient solutions for the
wireless telecom sector, have resulted in the company offering a rich and innovative product portfolio, based on advanced
technologies.
Background
In the present day scenario,
Telecom industry is facing the
grave challenge of reducing
energy costs. In addition,
the industry has to counter
losses arising out of diesel
and power pilferage and
tampering of DG counters.
Currently, Proof of Concept
for various solutions are
being experimented with
between tower companies &
vendors.However, there has
been no major breakthrough
so far.
The industry is extremely
reluctant to make capital
expenditures on various
products offered to it as :
>> The pay back periods are high
>> There is uncertainty if the capex incurred will result in
meaningful gains
Tower companies prefer the ‘OPEX’ model for new
technology solutions where they expect the vendor to
operationally take charge of the sites at various locations.
However, there are very few vendors who have both
technological capabilities as well as geographical reach.
A Much Need Solution
ACME’s new innovative Energy Management Unit addresses
these challenges. ACME Energy Management Unit is a DC
power source which produces telecom grade regulated
DC output, which is directly fed to BTS and site battery. In
case of non availability of Electricity Board, ACME Energy
Management Unit utilizes Battery Bank power & triggers DG
only after Battery Power utilization. It works on Electricity
Board and as well as generator. EB is the primary source
and once Electricity Board is exhausted, ACME Energy
Management Unit uses DG as it is the secondary source of
power. ACME Energy Management Unit is supplied in an
IP54 OD enclosure which is placed on a civil foundation. It
works independent of Power Interface Unit or Auto Transfer
Switch.

Integrated Power Management System (IPMS)
Global Energy Management Centre (GEMC) created with
an objective of remotely managing energy, assets and
field force has been providing critical insights to ACME’s
customers. The information patterns are benchmarked
against best-in-class and analyzed for usage, cost, carbon
footprint etc in a number of ways to help customer
understand consumption and usage practices. The
recommendations have resulted in energy saving options
like replacing or upgrading the inefficient equipment,
tackling routing waste or energy theft.
The center is uniquely positioned to serve clients across
the globe by acquiring data from various distributed
sources and ensures anywhere any time availability for
real time decision making. The application is hosted in
the latest cloud frame work (Private/Public) based on
Microsoft Framework and Google APIs.
The global focus is on energy conservation. With the
increased technology deployment, it is critical for
every organization to understand and monitor energy
consumption. Surprisingly, energy cost accounts for the
second highest expenditure. To service the above needs
ACME Cleantech Solutions Limited launched its Global
Energy Management Center (GEMC ).
The GEMC is powered with highest quality standards of
process and certifications like ISO 27001 & SAS 70.

Spheres of Presence
Manoj Kumar UpadhyayFounder, Chairman & Managing Director
At ACME, our philosophy is to envision and develop technologies that not only make great economic sense in terms of acceptability, efficiencies and return on investment, but also have a lasting impact on social well being. We firmly believe that any technology we develop has to be socially rewarding, through augmenting and enriching the environment. Our principal idea is to make the green approach financially rewarding.
At ACME we are working on all these three concepts and have come up
trumps.’’
ACME along with its wholly-owned subsidiary Reime NIS offers a range of
innovative products and services including single & multi operator enclosures,
power management solutions, cooling solutions and turn-key site installation
& management services, which work seamlessly to reduce “OPEX” by upto 30
- 40% in over 18 countries across the world.
ACME’s ‘Energy Management Solution’, provides a green solution without the
associated increase in CAPEX while providing a radical reduction in OPEX. This
lets operators focus on their core business of servicing customers, with total
peace of mind.
ACME is actively pursuing alternative energy initiatives such as Fuel cells and
Solar. The company has entered into an exclusive licensing agreement with
eSolar to build up to 1000MW of solar thermal power plants in India over
next 10 years. This is a translation of the company’s commitment to a non-
conventional energy portfolio for emerging markets.
ACME’s ‘clean energy’ venture will revisit and enhance the dimensions of
distributed energy and will have substantial bearing on reduction of green
house gases, which lead to a threatening carbon footprint and global warming.
