Ardian's Italmatch Chemicals has bolted on the metalworking fluids division of fellowchemicals company Afton. The deal is the latest in a long list of bolt-ons made by thebusiness since Ardian acquired it in 2014. These include Jiayou Chemical in China, Detrex inthe US, Sudamfos do Brasil, France-based Magpie Polymers and various divisions of Belgiancompany Solvay. Genoa-headquartered Italmatch provides chemical additives used in watertreatment, oil and gas, lubricants, plastics and personal care. It has operations across Europe,the Americas and Asia. It generates €420m of revenues and employs around 750 people. TheAfton division it is acquiring will add a range of additives used in producing high-performancemetal products to the business's offering. It has operations in the US, UK, India and China.Ardian acquired Italmatch in 2014 from Mandarin Capital Partners.
