For Everything There Is A Season September is turning out to be the month that most reflects the Book of Ecclesiastes. With the sad and sudden death of Italo Ciaschi, our Administrative Assistant/Bookkeeper, it is a time to make changes to our parish of-fice. For many years Italo was the one who enthusiastically welcomed new parishioners. He was the one I relied upon to manage our books and records. He is greatly missed by me and by all of you who called upon him as a brother. Our heartfelt condolences continue to go out to Adriana and their children. I’m grateful that a number of you have requested Masses for the repose of his soul. May he rest in peace. I have decided to hire two separate people to fill the positions of Administrative Assistant and Bookkeeper. To this end, I’m very pleased to announce that Sarah Gould has been hired as our new Bookkeeper effective Mon-day, September 23rd. She has a great deal of experience and I’m confident that she will exercise her responsibili-ties with integrity and dedication. She is a parishioner and the wife of Jason Gould, the Director of Camp Brebeuf. Thank you Sarah! The Administrative Assistant position has been posted at the diocesan Web site. (See below for details.) At the Pastoral Council meeting last week we discussed the hours and settled on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9:00am to 1:00pm. In addition to greeting people and answering the phone, one of their primary responsibilities will be the publication of the bulletin. We discussed the possibility of an online only version. But after hearing how much people appreciate a paper copy, I decided that we will continue to print the bulletin. I just hope some-one will read it. Receiving information online has become the norm in our society. Since you are reading this now, that gives me hope. Then again, you could have downloaded the PDF from the parish Web site to your phone or your computer. Whether from the hard copy or from your device, I’m glad someone is reading the bul-letin. Thank you. At the Pastoral Council meeting, we also discussed moving forward with our Visiting Ministry. More details coming soon. September is also a time to ask for new volunteers. We need help in all areas of parish life. We need new ushers at all the Masses. We need more volunteers for hospitality ministry at the 5:00pm and 9:00am Masses. We very much need new cleaners to clean the church once a week. We could also use more Ministers of the Word and Ministers of Communion. There are formation days for Ministers of the Word coming up on Saturday, October 5th, 2019 at St. Anthony Daniel Parish, Kitchener, and Saturday, October 19th, 2019 at St. Thomas the Apostle Parish, Waterdown. The Ministers of Communion formation days are Saturday, November 2nd, 2019 at St. Augustine Parish, Dundas and Saturday, November 9th, 2019 at St. Louis Parish, Waterloo. Please let me know if you are interested in volunteering for any of the positions. Finally, a word of the new church. As you may have heard, one of the site plan requirements is access to Camp Brebeuf that complies with current standards for a private lane. At the moment it would appear that the owner of Brebeuf Path is not willing to permit the necessary upgrade. However, I want to assure you that we may have hit a road block, but it’s not a dead end. The Diocese is currently working on an alternate access that I believe will make for a beautiful entrance to the camp and the church. Please continue to pray that God will provide the way. Fr. Mark Morley (Reprint from September 22nd, 2019)

Dine-in tickets are $20.00 for adults, $10.00 for children 12 and under and $55.00 for a family, which includes 2 adults and children under 18. Take out tickets are available for $20.00 each and new this year we have a Family Style Dinner (feeds 2 adults and 2 children) in aluminum trays for $55.00. All take out will be available for pick up in Coulson Hall at the back of the church between 4:30 pm - 6:30 pm. Both Dine-in and Take out tickets can be purchased every weekend in September after mass. You can also support this event by sponsoring our virtual shopping experience on display in Coulson Hall. The turkey supper feeds over 300 people each year. It's a lot of work and takes many volunteers. If you are able to volunteer a few hours of your time, a sign-up sheet will be left in Coulson Hall. This is a major fundraiser for the Catholic Women's League, Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish and St. Peter’s in Oustic, so any support you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Please contact Loretta Vince at 519-856-9409. Thank you and God Bless.
Micheal House We will again be putting our playpen out in Coulson Hall for Micheal House. Micheal House is a Christian based charitable agency in Guelph dedicated to providing housing and services to young pregnant and parenting women in need of a supportive environment. For many years our parish has put out a playpen in which donations of baby items such as diapers, baby food, shampoo, etc. may be placed. The drive will run from Saturday, Sept. 21 to Sunday Oct.13th. Please be as generous as you can. Mary Spiteri

Reflection:
Christ is not valued at all
until He is valued above all.
First Communion Parents Parents of children registering for First Communion are asked to meet in the parish hall (side door of the
church) on Tuesday, October 1st at 6:00pm. If you are unable to attend, please contact Fr. Mark by phone or
e-mail.
Life Chain Sunday Please keep Sunday, September 29th free as we are holding our annual Life Chain. As we join Canadians all over peacefully and prayerfully, let us trust wholly in our Lord. Our own ef-forts have failed to end or substantially reduce the number of abortions performed in our country. Please pray that God will intervene and that He will forgive our past indifference and lack of commitment. We are all our "Brother's Keepers" which in this case, it is our unborn brothers and sisters. Please make this hour a turning point in the destiny of our nation. Rock-wood Life Chain will be held on Sunday September 29th from 2:00pm-3:00pm at WATERSIDE PARK. Please try to gather by 1:50 PM. Mary Spiteri
Registration for Online Faith Formation programs for adults is now available. These programs are offered through the Diocese of Hamilton in partnership with Dayton University in Ohio. October: Month of the Rosary During the month of October, the Ro-sary will be prayed before all Masses. Please come a little early. The Rosary is a powerful weapon against all evils. That is why she gave it to us, and there is much evil in the world. Let’s do our part and sacrifice a little time for the Rosary. Mary Spiteri
