What is home to you?
I come from a military family so moving around has been a big part
of my life. My mom was able to keep us in the same place for a long
time while I was in high school (which I’m thankful for) but recently
we started to venture out again. A few years after college, here we
are and in the past two years we’ve moved twice. It’s exiting and
scary at the same time. We just felt like a move would bring us more
opportunities – so far it’s still a mystery but I have faith.
Sometimes I think of my old house and get a little homesick.
But then I have to remember that home is not back there – it’s here
with me. I make sure to keep paintings close because they will
always represent home to me and a place where I can hide away. I
hope this painting serves you well and brings comfort to your studio!

I like to use photos to help me with light, shadow, inspiration, and
shape. I used my own style for the face and hair.
