Training course on "Component 5"

Component 5 of the Stop TB Strategy "Empower people with TB, and communities through partnership"

Objective: to strengthen capacity of professionals who provide technical support to countries for the implementation of the Stop TB Strategy.

Core Group input into curriculum and facilitation of course.

ACSM Training Curriculum

5-day workshop – "Overcoming barriers to TB control: the role of advocacy, communication, and social mobilization".

Curriculum for training aimed at providing country-level staff with specific knowledge, skills, and resources to plan, implement, and evaluate effective ACSM interventions linked to specific TB control objectives.

Curriculum used in two Regional Workshops (Tanzania and Sri Lanka).

M&E for ACSM

Objective: to provide practical guidance on monitoring and evaluation of ACSM activities.

Document clarifies key M&E terms and shows examples of practical applications of M&E concepts for ACSM, including the development of M&E plans as a critical element of overall project planning.

Finalization in 2011 and pilot tests to gauge usefulness and practicality of document.
