Flowering plants, also called angiosperms, are the most numerous of all the divisions in the Plant Kingdom. 

The parts of a flowering plant are characterized by two basic systems:◦ a root system◦ a shoot system.

Hibiscus FlowerHibiscus flower is a genus of flowering plants, it is quite large, containing several hundred species.Member species are usually showy flowers and are commonly known as rosemallow.

It is made up of sepals.There are five leaf-like sepals in a Hibiscus flower which are green in colour. They are united to form a cup likeCalyx protect the flower in the bud stage.

It is made up of petals.They are five in number and free. They are arranged in a ring within calyx. The petals in Hibiscus are brightly coloured to attract the insects for pollination. Organs that produce nectar are found at the base of each petal.

The stamens are located within the corolla. Each stamen has a thin filament bearing an anther. The anther contains yellow pollen gains. In the hibiscus, the filaments are fused together at the bottom to form a stamen tube.

The pistil is situated in the centre of the flower. A long, sender style joins the stigmas to the ovaries. The ovaries are divided into five carpels. Each ovary contains several ovules. There are five knob-shaped, sticky stigmas at the top of the style. The style is covered by the stamen-tube.

Hibiscus flower helps in growth of hair. This flower improves digestion. Can be used as natural dye for hair. Natural oil in this flower acts as a conditioner. Used in herbal tea as it contains many

minerals and vitamins. Can be very useful in initial stage of cancer. Chinese eat this flower by making pickle. Can be used as shoe polish by rubbing it on

the shoe.
