Healthcare has become one of India’s largest sectors - both in terms of revenue and employment. Healthcare comprises hospitals, medical devices, clinical trials, outsourcing, telemedicine, medical tourism, health insurance and medical equipment. The Indian healthcare sector is growing at a tremendous pace owing to its strengthening coverage, services and increasing expenditure by public as well private players. It has become one of India’s largest sectors - both in terms of revenue and employment. Indian healthcare delivery system is categorized into two major components - public and private. The Government, i.e. public healthcare system comprises limited secondary and tertiary care institutions in key cities and focuses on providing basic healthcare facilities in the form of primary healthcare centres (PHCs) in rural areas. The private sector provides majority of secondary, tertiary and quaternary care institutions with a major concentration in metros, tier I and tier II cities. India's competitive advantage lies in its large pool of well-trained medical professionals. India is also cost competitive compared to its peers in Asia and Western countries. The cost of surgery in India is about one-tenth of that in the US or Western Europe. – ibef.org

Success Stories

Secured a Job Opportunity through

NCS Portal

My name is Manav Bhateja. I got registered on NCS portal last year. I was doing MBA and was told about NCS by official in the career centre of Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. They guided me to be a part of largest employment portal. As I joined I had started getting e-mails from NCS through which I have come to know about various companies’ placement drives. MCC staff made me familiar with company’s eligibility criteria and skills required to get those jobs. So with the help of GNDU Model Career Centre, I’ve developed those skills and was able to confidently sit in the interviews. After applying for various companies I was selected in HDFC Bank at a pay package of Rs. 4.23 lakh. This is all because of NCS portal and all the efforts their officials are putting into it. I really appreciate the work done by government.

participated in the Job fair conducted by Model Career Centre,

NICS Noida with full preparation and selected as a Quality

Analyst in operations department in the company Integrated

Acquire a Skill, Acquire Employment

I completed my 12th standard and I had the responsibility to

take care of the family being an elder daughter. But I was

lacking guidance on what to do after my 12th standard to get

better opportunities in a short time. After getting career

guidance and counseling from Model Career Centre, Don

Bosco, Bangalore, I was referred for skill training in retail

management. I received training in communication, customer

management, presentation etc. in this training course.

Industrial Exposures and Mock Interview training helped me to

develop my skills. After completion of the training, I got placed

at A-C Academy as an admin with a salary of Rs 10000 per

month. I thank MCC and skill training institute for the help.

Success Stories

Turned disability into ability

Being a Locomotor Disabled of 60% and an adult about 24 years,

I don’t want to be a burden for my parents as we hail from a

rural area called Abhimanpur of Cuttack district. After

completion of Bachelor of Arts, I looked for job opportunities,

and realized that simply having a Graduation degree in hand is

not adequate to grab an employment option but one must have

some skill set too. As I was registered with the NCSCDA,

Bhubaneswar, visited for a counseling session and my profile

was referred to Livelihoods Advancement Business School

(LABS) running in collaboration with the NCSCDA,

Bhubaneswar. I was trained for two months and later on

through the NCSCDA, Bhubaneswar I was referred for a

recruitment process supposed to be held at KARVY Data

Management Pvt. Ltd., Bhubaneswar and fortunately I got

selected and till then I am serving at KARVY and performing to

the best of my ability to perform most of the assigned work. I am

thankful to entire team of the NCSCDA, Bhubaneswar for

extending such cooperation to make me employable in the

corporate world.
