Active & passive VoiceVoice: Voice is the form of the verb that
indicates whether the subject of the sentence performs or receives the action.
Examples. I.He writes a letter.II.A letter is written by himIII.They play cricket.IV.Cricket is played by them.V.He delivered a speech.VI.A speech was delivered by him.
Active voiceA sentence where the action is directly
done by the active subject or the action is performed by the subject, the verb is in the active voice.
Examples:I.He writes a letter.II.They played cricket.III.We have painted a picture.IV.They are doing their work.
Passive Voice:A sentence where the subject is passive
and receives the action of the verb is considered to be in the passive voice.
Examples:I.My work has been done.II.You are taught English.III.A song is sung by Mukesh .IV.I am known to you.V.Let it be done.VI.Has his work been done by him?
To change a sentence of active into passive voice, we have to follow the given instructionsInterchange the place of subject and object.Use the passive form of the verb.Add by or other preposition before the doer
of an action .Change the form of personal pronoun .
NotesI. Only transitive verbs can be used in passive
voice.II. Sentences in Perfect Continuous Tense and
Future Continuous Tense are not changed in to passive voice.
