As the Formation approaches an open door on the right, the
Team Leader advises the Formation of the upcoming door and slides over by the
Right Cover Officer, preparing to make entry into the room.
Any form of entry may be utilized, with the Team Leader and Right Cover Officer making
entry while the Left Cover Officer and Rear Security
Officer cover long forward and rear. Respectively.

As the Formation proceeds, the Left Cover Officer can possibly clear some of the room prior to the entry by the Team Leader and the Right Cover Officer.
Prior to entry, the Team Leader may squeeze the shoulder of
the Right Cover Officer to signify the start of the entry or the Team Leader may advise the Right Cover Officer, “On You”, signifying that the two
(2) man element will commence entry on his
movement

As the Team Leader and Right Cover Officer make entry into the room, any form of entry (i.e. Buttonhook, Criss-Cross, Hybrid, etc.) may be utilized.
ALWAYS REMEMBER, the second Officer through the door should feed off of the movement of the first.
The Left Cover Officer and Rear Security Officer now share the responsibility of
covering long to the front and rear. It is recommended that
they DO NOT stay static in one position, but move side-to-side.

As the Team Leader and Right Cover Officer are preparing to
exit the room, whichever is nearest to the threshold of the
door should announce, “Nothing seen…coming out”, or
something to that effect. PLEASE NOTE, it does not matter
who exits the door first, what matters most is that the two (2) “flow” back into the Formation,
possibly changing roles and positions.
The Left Cover Officer and Rear Security Officer should prepare for the “re-entry” of the two (2) Formation members and slide to
their respective positions.

Once the Team Leader and Right Cover Officer exit the room, each will immediately begin their respective cross angle
responsibilities as the Formation proceeds forward.
As the Rear Security Officer slides by the door of the room, he/she should close the door, if the second Officer exiting the
room had not done so.

Opening a Closed DoorOpening a Closed Door
As the Formation approaches a closed door on the right, the
Team Leader advises the Formation of the upcoming
door and decision to enter the room.
“A” way, is to slide two (2) Officers of the Formation past the door, with one (1) holding long to the front and the other preparing to open the door.

Opening a Closed DoorOpening a Closed Door
Once the Formation is in place to breach the door (making sure the two(2) Officers who
are on either side of the door, are completely out of the
doorway, when it opens), the Rear Security Officer and the Left Cover Officer (or whoever has slid to cover long, to the
front) should now assume and continue responsibilities of
covering their cross-angles. They should also be out of the
doorway when it opens.
““T-Y” T-Y” FORMATIONFORMATION
Opening a Closed DoorOpening a Closed Door
The Officer closet to the door handle or knob should initiate the opening of the door, so as not to be in the line of fire as
the door is opened. The Left Cover Officer and Rear Security Officer now share the responsibility of
covering long to the front and rear. It is recommended that
they DO NOT stay static in one position, but move side-
to-side.
