The data from the column "code" should serve as a data source for the labels. To use them, we copythese data into the windows clipboard. Mark the data you would like to use first:

Now copy the selected data into the windows clipboard. For this use the function "Copy" out of the menu"Edit" of the spreadsheet software:

Next open the ActiveBarcode Application. If you not yet adjusted the label sheet type you use, select"Setup label sheet" from menu "Print" first.

Now select the function "Labels containing barcodes" from menu "Print". Click on the tab "Data source".The following dialog box appears:

Hint: The barcode has been added as image to your document. The images resultion has been set by you using theActiveBarcode Application (Menu "Barcode": Layout & Size). If you create the barcode in a low resolution (e.g. 200x50 pixels)and then print it to a printer with a high resolution the barcodes textline may look like it has a too low resolution and hugeblocks are visible. This also happens when you resize the barcode inside your document to get it bigger. To avoid this you mustcreate the barcode in a bigger resolution before you copy the barcode to the Windows clipboard. Then you paste the barcodeimage to your document and resize it to the required smaller size. Now the resolution of the image is higher and if you printyour document the barcode will look much better!

Barcode images in a publication

How to add a barcode image into a Publisher document

You can use the ActiveBarcode Application to add barcodes to your MS Publisher documents:

Launch the ActiveBarcode Application and create the barcode according to your needs. If you needinformation of how to use the ActiveBarcode Application click here.

After creating the barcode you copy it into the Windows clipboard. To do this select "Copy Bitmap" or"Copy Meta" from the "Edit" menu (A description of the whole menu is located here).

If you want to place a bitmap image to your document use the function "Copy Bitmap". You do this, if youneed a barcode in an exact size.

If you want to place a vector graphics to your document use the function "Copy Meta". You do this, if youwant to freely resize the barcode in your document.

The barcode will now be copied to the Windows clipboard and is available for nearly any applicationrunning on your system.

Now open MS Publisher and create a new document or open an already existing document. Go to the"Edit" menu and select "Paste" to add the barcode image from the Windows clipboard to your document:

MS Publisher 2000, 2003, 2007 Barcode images in a publication 100

The barcode will be placed into your document:

The barcode image is now placed to into your document. You can handle this barcode inside yourdocument as any other image (e.g. resize, move, etc.).

64bit Windows

If you want to use the barcodeimage.wsf program under Windows 64bit, you need to run thebarcodeimage.wsf in 32-bit, as the control is 32-bit too. On 64bit machines wsf files are running in 64bitmode by default.

Have a look for a 32bit version of the cscript.exe or wscript.exe on your machine and then call the scriptusing the following commands:

ActiveBarcode Commandline Tool 129

cscript.exe barcodeimage.wsforwscript.exe barcodeimage.wsf

In general the cscript and/or wscript files are located in the %windir%\syswWOW64 folder.

Example

For example you can use the command line tool to createbarcodes dynamically in a OpenOffice document. We have createdan example file for OpenOffice Calc that creates barcodes from alist of numbers right beside the numbers in a sheet.

You can download this example file directly using this link:ab_barcodelist.ods

Please have a look at the notes inside this document: You mayhave to edit the path of the command line tool inside the macro.
