World Book Day

On World Book Day they learnt the story of Alexia, a teddy bear hero, in the Roman Baths, Bath, England. A story book was made, with cartoons next to the writing, so that they children could understand and enjoy the story.

The students from the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th levels were given their own copy of the story book, so that they could look at it when they wanted. They had to answer questions, and draw pictures about the story.

The Story of Alexia (circle the correct answer)

Once upon a time there was a dinosaur/ dog/ bear called “Alexia”. She was red/ brown/ blue in colour. One day she was in the Roman Baths/ The Houses of Parliament / the Cathedral with her Roman friends.

A special man was visiting, he was called the wizard/ the Emperor/ the teacher. But there was a good/ happy/ bad man in the Roman Baths. He wanted to kill / play with / sing to the Emperor.

Alexia saved the Emperor because in her pencil case/ sharpener/ school bag she had some magic liquid to save the Emperor.

The Emperor thanked Alexia for her bravery. He put a hat/ scarf/ Roman headband on her head because she was a hero.

They all lived happily ever after with Alexia.

Europe Day

On Europe Day the students learnt England´s food, money, Royal Family, famous landmarks, its capital city London, the London Olympic Games 2012, and famous English people.

The sheets the students completed. The students were asked by the teacher questions about England, and had to answer the questions on the sheet. They had to draw the England flag and traditional English food. The students were did the best were rewarded with a rubber from London, or a pencil with an England flag.
