Maniar College of Computer & Management, Nagpur addressed all Part-I and XI th class students and delivered a lecture on career guidance on 23 rd & 25 th July, 2016. 2. Celebration of Teachers Day Students had organized a wonderful function on “Teachers’ Day” for teaching staff of S. S. Maniar College of Computer and Management on 5 th September, 2016. They had prepared creative and attractive invitation cards with their own hands. The invitation cards had good thoughts on teachers. The function started with welcome song and lighting of the traditional lamp to goddess Saraswati. Greeting cards rose flowers and gifts were given to welcome all teachers. Dr. (Mrs.) S. A. Bhide, Director and Dr. Liladhar Rewatkar, Off. Principal addressed the students on this occasion. After the welcome, various games were organized by students for teachers. 3. Inauguration of reading facility (Library) The Inaugural function of reading facility (Library) for Vanwasi students was held on 19 th September, 2016 in the college. The reading facility will be available for students from 2 pm to 8 pm in all days including Sunday and holiday. The reading facility will be most useful for preparation of competitive exams of students.

4. NSS Unit Inauguration 2016-17Activities of National Service Scheme(N.S.S)for the academic year 2016-17 at S. S. ManiarCollege of Computer and Management, Nagpur has been inaugurated by Dr. S. A. Bhide,(Director) and Dr. L. Rewatkar (Officiating Principal) on Saturday, 24thSeptember, 2016 atthe institute premises. As a beginning of the official function the welcome speech wasdelivered by the NSS volunteer Mr. Mukesh J. Bhardwaj. The presidential address was givenby the Director of S. S. Maniar College of Computer & Management, Dr. S. A. Bhide.During her speech she gave a good idea about the importance of NSS in the society and thestatus of this service in the present curriculum. She also gave a lecture on the topic “How tostay healthy despite disease causing chemicals in our environment”.
5. Longest Walkathon for Tree PlantationMr. AshishBharadwaj, student of BBA 2nd year along with 7 team members performed a 345km walkathon from Nagpur to Raipur and planted 501 trees across various schools, hospitals,clubs and NGO’s within the distance, starting from 20th August, 2016 and ending on 28th
August, 2016. He awarded with medal and certificate. His name is recorded in India Book ofRecord on 28thSeptember, 2016.
6. Inauguration of Laboratory of Junior CollegeThe pooja and inaugural function of the Laboratory of the Junior college was held at 3:30 pmon Saturday 8th October, 2016 in the college. Shri. Shashikantbhai Ajmera, Member,Executive Committee, SNGM inaugurated the laboratory. Regular practicals of (Physics,Chemistry& Biology) commenced from Monday, 10th October, 2016.
7. Visit to Bhavani Mata Temple,PardiThe volunteers of NSS unit accompanied by their Programme officer,Mr. Atul Akotkar, paida visit to the Bhavani Mata Temple Pardi, Nagpur on 10th October, 2016. 44 students of thecollege visited this beautiful temple and distributed delicious food to the people (i.e.distribution of Mahaprasad to the people).The students interacted with temple committeemembers. Some of the students involved in cleaning area, collecting used plates, regulatingqueues in temples & preventing stampedes at functions. Finally all volunteers seek theblessing of goddess Bhavani Mata.
8. Participation of Student in Singing CompetitionVMV College had organized a National Level Technical & Cultural Contest for students on15th October, 2016. Mr. SagarMeshram (BBA – III) participated in the singing competition.Participation certificate was given to him.
9. Visit to Anandwan (MaharogiSevaSamiti, Warora)The volunteers of NSS unit accompanied by their Programme officers,Mr. AtulAkotkar&Ms.Khushabu Ghiye, paid a visit to the Anandwan (MaharogiSevaSamiti),Warora on 15th
October, 2016. 48 students of the S. S. Maniar College of Computer & Management visitedthis Anandwan which literally means “Forest of joy”located around 3 kmfrom Warora in Chandrapur district in the state of Maharashtra. NSS volunteers of S. S.Maniar College self-contributed & collected Rs.1010/- & donated to "Swaranandwan" on thebehalf of college.
10. Picnic to Fun n FoodThe one day college picnic to Fun N Food Village was arranged on 27th October 2016. Atotal of 81 students and 5 faculty members participated in the picnic. Two buses werearranged for picnic.
11. Swachh Bharat Abhiyan RallyThe NSS volunteers of S.S. Maniar College of Computer & Management accompanied bytheir NSS Officers,Mr. AtulAkotkar&Ms. Gunjan Kharabe joined “Swachh Bharat Mission”campaign and visited slum area Chikhalinear college to explain the importance of cleanlinesswith the banner of “NO SPITTING” in Public Placeson 20th November, 2016. Volunteerssprayed cleanliness message to the people of slum area.Survey for Swachh Bharat Abhiyanhas been also conducted in which volunteers collected information about the garbagedumping process and sewage water management.
12. Celebration of Sanvidhan DayAs per notification of R.T.M.N.U., Constitution Day was celebrated in our college by NSSvolunteers on 26th November, 2016 to create awareness of the constitution of India amongstudents. The program began with rally of around 200 students, all teaching staff &Officiating Principal. Rally starts from college & cover area around college such as BharatNagar. At Kalamna square three students read the preamble in group including all studentsand teaching staff present in the rally.The rally concluded with the national anthem.Debate&Essay Competition was also organized on 26thNovember, 2016 on topic “The effects ofdemonetization of old 500 & 1000 currency notes”. Around 15 students participated indebate competition & 10students participated in Essay competition.KuldeepNandanwar(BCCA – II) won first prize in Essay competition and ShubhamShahu (B. Com. – III) wonfirst prize in Debate competition.
13. Ellora Summit 2016 – Youth WorkshopThe volunteers of NSS unit of S. S. Maniar College of Computer & Management, Nagpuraccompanied by their Programme officer Mr. AtulAkotkar, paid a visit to the PACE Centre,Aurangabad on 8th December, 2016. 04 students(ShubhamShahu, AkashKanoje, PinkiShahuand SudhaKushwaha) attended a three day youth workshop organized by YuvakBiradari(Bharat) from 9th to 11th December, 2016. 50 students from different districts of Maharashtragathered for this Summit. The main motive of the Summit was to motivate students forentrepreneurship and self-employment (Theme - Swayam se udyamtak).
14. Welcome Ceremony of Mrs. Sudha Suresh ManiyarOn the occasion of National Education Day, our patron, Mrs. Sudha Sureshbhai Maniyar &Mr. SureshbhaiAmolakchandManiyar visited our college on 12th December, 2016. Adv. C. J.Thakar, Chairman, Trustee Mandal, Shri. Nagpur Gujarati Mandal, and Shri. YogeshbhaiPatel, President, Shri. Nagpur Gujarati Mandal, Dr. (Mrs.) S. A. Bhide, Director, Dr. L.Rewatkar, Officiating Principal and all of the Executive Committee of Shri. NagpurGujratiMandal, were present on the occasion.Shri. Sureshbhai Maniar announced a donationof One Lakh Eleven Thousand Rupees for the college. Students of the college spoke abouttheir experience in college. Dr. (Mrs.) S. A. Bhide, Director, gave a presentation account ofthe progress made by the college since inception.
15. Participation of Students in Poster CompetitionKDK College of Engineering had organized a Poster and Project Competition for 11th and12th standard students on 15th December, 2016. 06 students participated in the postercompetition. Students have taken guidance from Mr. Ashish A. Bawankar, AssitantProfessor, S. S. Maniar College, Nagpur for preparation of posters.
16. Talk of Mr. VenkateshIyerLemon Ideas in association with Vidarbha Industries Association had organized a talk of Mr.VenkateshIyer, Founder, GOLI VADAPAV for students, professors and entrepreneurs on21st December, 2016 at Banyan Hall, Chitnavis Centre, Civil Lines, Nagpur. The topic was“From the streets of Mumbai, to the desk of Harvard”. Mr. Ashish A. Bawankar & Ms.GunjanKharabe, Asst. Professors, attended the talk. In this talk Mr. Iyer focused on how toestablish the business amid the competitors by giving example of GoliVadapav.
17. Talk of Mr. M. S. UnnikrishnanEntrepreneurship Forum of Vidarbha Industries Association had organized a talk of Mr. M.S. Unnikrishnan, Managing Director & CEO, Thermax Ltd., Pune for students, professorsand entrepreneurs on 22nd December, 2016 at VIA Auditorium, Nagpur. The topic was“Opportunities for start-ups in SME’s in India”. Mr. Ashish A. Bawankar &Ms.GunjanKharabe, Assistant Professors, with 12 management students attended a talk. In thistalk speaker mainly focused on, different opportunities available for young entrepreneurs andstart-ups to start the business in India.
18. Guest Lecture of Mr. AkashKatoleS. S. Maniar College of Computer & Management had organized a guest lecture of Mr.AkashKatole, who is presently associated with Brainy Masters Academy and Founder ofClean Nagpur & Member of Group of Friends – MAA (NGO), for students on 24th
December, 2016. The topic was “How to pursue career in non-government organization andits benefits”. In this talk Mr. Akash focused on working of NGO and making career in NGO.
19. Guest Lecture of Mr. AnujJaisS. S. Maniar College of Computer & Management had organized a guest lecture of Mr.AnujJais, working in TCS for Morgan Stanely Wealth Management Project and NSE NCFMCertified Financial & Investment Advisor, for students on 24th December, 2016. The topicwas “Basics of Stock Market”. In this talk Mr. Anuj focused on working of stock market andhow to make career in stock market.
20. Guest Lecture of Ms. ShrutiLendeS. S. Maniar College of Computer & Management had organized a guest lecture of Ms.ShrutiLende, Ex-student and working as Software Developer in Aquarian Software India Pvt.Ltd., Nagpur, for students on 24th December, 2016. The topic was “How to pursue careerafter passing out from college”. In this talk Ms. Shruti shared her life experience and journeyfrom college to corporate.
21. Free Medical Health Check-up CampThe volunteers of NSS unit accompanied by their Programme officer Mr. AtulAkotkar,paid avisit to the ParmitraBoudhhaVihar,Kushinagar, Nagpur on 28th December, 2016 which wasorganized by PanditDindayalUpadhyay Institute of Medical Science, Research & HumanResources, Nagpur. 22 students of the college visited this free medical health check-up campand arranged a rally for awareness about the camp in slum area.The students interacted withpeople in that area and provided detail information to them about different activities to beheld in the camp site. Some of the students involved in arranging rows, filling informationform (registration), checking blood pressure, checking blood group, distributing medicine &preventing stampedes in camp.
22. Guest Lecture of Mr. Anil BaviskarS. S. Maniar College of Computer & Management had organized a guest lecture of Mr. AnilBaviskar, Assistant Professor, Jhulelal Institute of Technology, Nagpur for students on 29th
December, 2016. The topic was “Robotics”. In this talk Mr. Anil focused on assembling ofrobotic parts. The students assembled a robot themselves.
23. Guest Lecture of Mr. Ashish AloneNSS Unit of S. S. Maniar College of Computer & Management had organized a guest lectureof Mr. Ashish Alone, Director, Escort Computer Education, Nagpur, for students on 29th
December, 2016. The topic was “Cashless transaction and importance of E-Commerce”. Inthis talk Mr. Ashish focused on various aspects of cashless transaction i.e. net banking, UPIapp, uses of debit card and credit card.
24. Yoga, Pranayam and Meditation workshop by Dr. S. A. Bhide
NSS Unit of S. S. Maniar College of Computer & Management had organized a Yoga,Pranayam and Meditation Workshop. Dr. (Mrs.) S. A. Bhide, Director, S. S. Maniar Collegeof Computer & Management, Nagpur, was the trainer for students on 30th December, 2016 inthe college. 32 students attended this workshop. In this class Dr. S. A. Bhide taught variousYogasans (Surya Namaskar, Mahamudra, Yogamudra, Pashimottasan, Pawanmuktasan,Sarwangasan, Shalabhasan, Dhanurasan, etc.) to students which are very important forhealthy life. Five types of pranayama, and meditation procedures were demonstrated andpracticed by the students.
25. NSS Camp in Village Khapri (Raja)NSS unit of S. S. Maniar College of Computer & Management, Nagpur, organized a sevenday special camp in the adopted village, Khapri (Raja) from 31st December, 2016 to06thJanuary, 2017. Fifty NSS volunteers participated in the camp. The Volunteers of the NSSunit performed many activities such as awareness programmes viz. cleanliness, onlinetransaction information / Cashless transaction Information (Digital India), save girls, womenempowerment, domestic violence, farming using advanced techniques, road safety,environment enrichment, superstition, health and hygiene, anti-addiction, communalharmony, shramadaan etc. in the camp. A cultural activity was the most important,entertaining and most enjoyable part of the camp. Cultural activities were conducted toimpart moral values to the villagers. The most beautiful thing of this program was that thevillagers also willingly participated.
26. College GatheringThe annual social gathering was held in S. S. Maniar College of Computer and Management,Nagpur from 13 Jan, 2017 to 22 Jan, 2017. Several sports and competitive events wereorganized under the aegis of the Annual Social Gathering PRAYAS 2017. In sports category
many games such as Open Cricket, Box Cricket, Badminton, Carrom, Chess, Lagory, andDodge ball were organized. In competitive events category many events such as TreasureHunt, Rodimania, Quiz, Coding & Debugging, Typing, Rangoli, Mehandi, Traditional Dayand Antakshari were organized. Students and staff were served delicious lunch on 21st Jan2017. On the last day of the Annual Social Gathering all cultural events such as Singing,Dance, Drama, Mime and Fashion Show were organized. Prizes were distributed by thedignitaries to the toppers of 2015-16 and winners of all events of the gathering.
27. Celebration of National Voters DayAs per notification of Election Commission of India, National Voters Day was celebrated inour college by NSS volunteers on 25th January, 2017 to promote electoral participationamong students. On this occasion every students had taken National Voters Day Pledge forethical electoral participation. Studentstook the pledge in English and Hindi. The programconcluded with the national anthem.
28. Blood Donation CampA Blood Donation Camp was arranged in the campus in association with the HedgewarBlood Bank on 28th January, 2017, in the college premises. Many students and teachersparticipated and contributed in this camp by donating blood. Twenty eight students and twoteachers voluntarily came up to donate the blood.
29. Yoga, Pranayam, Meditation &Personality Development WorkshopNSS Unit of our college had organized a Yoga, Pranayam, Meditation& PersonalityDevelopment Workshop. Miss. VeenuSoni, Miss. RekhaGiri, Miss. NehaKohli,DevSanskrutiVishwavidyalaya, Haridwar (Uttarakhand), trained the students on 28th January,2017, in the college premises. In this workshop Miss. RekhaGiri taught various Yogasans tostudents which are very important for healthy life. Five types of pranayama, and meditationprocedures were demonstrated and practiced by the students. Miss. VeenuSoni student ofDevSanskrutiVishwavidyalaya took a session on management of life style disorders throughyoga and alternative therapies. Miss. NehaKohli took a session on personality development.
30. Medical Check-up CampMedical Check-up Camp was held for the students on 4th,6th and 7thFebruary, 2017 in thecollege premises. The arrangement for boys and girls was separate. Dr. Rajendraprasad Jainchecked boy’s students and Dr. RadhikaMurkute checked girl students.
AState Level GyanWruddhiSpardha2016 was conducted in association with the NathePublication Ltd. on 9th January, 2017, in the college. Eighty seven students were participatedin the GyanWruddhiSpardha2016. The Nathe Publication Ltd. provided free of cost GeneralKnowledge books to all participants to prepare for the competition. Mr. Ashish A. Bawankar,Assistant Professor took more efforts to motivate the students for such competitiveexaminations.
32.One Day Workshop on Sexual Harassment of Women at Work Place(Constraints Restrictions & Prohibition) Act 2013One day Workshop on “Sexual Harassment of Women at work place (ConstraintsRestrictions & Prohibition) Act 2013” was held in S. S. Maniar College of Computer &Management on 27th February, 2017.Adv. A. P. Dande, Lawyer at Civil Court was the ChiefGuest of this function. Dr. L. R. Rewatkar, Officiating Principal of S. S. Maniar Collegepresided over the function. Adv. A. P. Dande gave comprehensive information about the actand induced awareness among the students and teachers about this act.
33. two day training workshop of NSS Programme Officer on “SustainableDevelopment Goal & Social issues”Inaugurating the two day training workshop of NSS Programme Officer on “SustainableDevelopment Goal & Social issues”. The wokshop is being hosted by the Department ofMass Communication in association with UNICEF & NSS Cell of RTMNU. Mr.AtulAkotkar, NSS Programme Officer attended the workshop.

Shirwadkar (Kusumagraj).A program “Granthdindi” was organized by RashtrasantTukadojiMaharaj Nagpur Universityon the occasion of Marathi Language Day on 8th March, 2017. Twenty NSS volunteers alongwith Ms. GunjanKharabe, Program officer attended Granthdindi program. The programbegan with a rally from Dixit Sabhagruh to Nagpur University Library. Around 500 studentsfrom different colleges of Nagpur participated in the rally.

36. Industrial visit to Chartered Information Systems Pvt. Ltd.The students of B.Sc.(IT) 2nd year & 3rd year accompanied by their faculty members Dr. L.R. Rewatkar& Mr. AtulAkotkar, paid a visit to the Chartered Information Systems Pvt. Ltd,on 18thMarch, 2017. Forty two students of our college visited this company specializing inTaxation Products, Payroll, Attendance System, Digital Signature Certificates, PKI Products,and Bulk SMS Gateway Services. A fast growing, dynamic and professionally managedcompany catering to specialized needs of Corporates, Banks, Chartered Accountants andIncome Tax Consultants across the country, is also providing consultancy to some of theGovernment departments for e-filing of returns. The Company develops and markets thesoftware products under the brand name of TaxPro.
37. Drama “Mahatma KaIntzaar”A drama “Mahatma KaIntzaar” was presented on 30th March 2017 by National School ofDrama, Delhi at VasantraoDeshpandey Hall, Nagpur which was sponsored by Shree NagpurGujratiMandal, Nagpur. It was a great opportunity to the teachers and students of our collegeto be a part of enjoying the drama which was written by India’s most famous novelist R. K.Narayan. The drama was based on the Guru of Mahatma Gandhi, Shri. Roopchand, whoenlightened the path of Mahatma Gandhi.
38. Mock Drill of Fire FightingFire and Emergency Service Department, Kalama Fire Station, Nagpur organized a MockDrill of Fire Fighting for students on 17th April, 2017, in the college premises. Mr. C. B.Tiwari (Fire Officer) trained the students on the occasion of ‘Fire Service Week, 14 – 20April 2017’. It was a great chance to our students to attend the mock drill. The mock drill
began at 11:15 am in the morning and continued for one hour. In this mock drill Mr. C. B.Tiwari (Fire Officer) demonstrated various tricks for controlling fire to the students.
