The American Bus Association (ABA) kicked off 2017 with its Annual
Meeting and Marketplace in Cleveland, OH. The Greater Green Bay CVB
attended, along with 14 other Wisconsin tourism industry professionals
including the Green Bay Packers, Oneida Nation Tourism and the
Radisson Hotel and Conference Center Green Bay.
Over 3,300 people from across the United States and Canada attended
the event to network, meet one-on-one at scheduled appointments and
attend educational seminars. The CVB had 24 appointments this year
and the opportunity to meet with many other tour operators during
networking events.
For the past 30 years, Circle Wisconsin has hosted the Wisconsin Cheese
Booth – always a big hit! This year we won 1st Place in the Island Booth
Category. For almost four days, we served a variety of Wisconsin products
including kringles, chocolate covered cherries and Jelly Bellies. Most
importantly, we served close to 70 gallons of cranberry juice, 45 pounds
of cheese curds, 25 pounds of mozzarella whips and sliced over 230
pounds of cheese.
Hundreds of people were drawn to our booth to “Say Cheese” and get
their picture taken with our mascot, a cardboard cutout of Clay
Matthews.

VISITOR GUIDE
The 2017 Official
Greater Green Bay
Visitor Guide was
completely redesigned.
New this year are
community profiles,
“Ask a Local” and
many more photos in
our partners listings and
calendar of events
sections.
The guide is the CVB
main-fulfillment piece
for online and phone
inquiries. There are
225,000 guides printed
and sent all over the
country to promote our
tourism partners.
Many local businesses
have them as well, so
travelers can pick them
up here in Greater
Green Bay. The guide
includes a map of the
community.
If you would like to have
guides to distribute in
your business, please
call Sally Graham at

Joel Everts, CVB Sports

a Sales Blitz in partnership
with SportsWisconsin in
late-January. The event
took place in Indianapolis

worked with the
Wisconsin Department of
Tourism and the WACVB
to host two functions.
These events were a
luncheon attended by
event organizers and an
after-work social.
Attendees included
representatives from
NCAA, Horizon League
and USA Track and Field.
This trip also brought a
meeting with an
organization interested in
hosting an annual
lacrosse event in Greater

CVB at Packers Pep Rally
In a showing of Green & Gold pride, the Greater Green Bay CVB attended
Downtown Green Bay Inc.’s Packers Pep Rally held Fridays before a playoff football
game. We handed out #LoveGB can-koozies and green and yellow beads. It was
great to see so many cheering in front of the Packers Heritage Trail Monument to
get excited together for the Packers game.
In addition to the home playoff game having an economic impact of $14 million,
even the away Packers playoff games this year brought bonus national media
coverage for Greater Green Bay. The success of the Packers on the field positively
affects the success of the tourism industry, especially during the following Packers
Training Camp. People will come from all over the world to see the Packers start
their season.
Until next football season – Go Pack Go!

The Greater Green Bay
CVB is proud to have
purchased the featured ad
on the back cover of the
Circle Wisconsin 2017 Tour
Planner. This publication is a
major source of information
for the motor coach trip
planners who want to bring
a tour to Wisconsin. This ad
is a great complement to
the success Julie Gerczak
had with her appointments
at the ABA Conference in
Cleveland.
