Actons Lock Aparments

At the edge of the Grand Union Canal in Hackney the site pre-sented very tight con-straints that influenced the construction meth-odology. The project comprises of 25 flats, 7 of which are designat-ed as Housing Associ-ation. The facades are either rendered or onto the canal, brickwork with several features. We have used an off-site system of manu-facture for the facades, as this dealt well with the constraints of the site and offered a speed and quality to the programme. The structural system is concrete slabs and columns over which the panels are fixed.
