Acts 1 1 The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach, 2 Until the day in which He was taken up, after that He through the Holy Ghostthrough the Holy Ghost had given Commandments unto the apostles whom He had chosen: 3 To whom also He shewed Himself alive after His passion by many infallible proofsinfallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the Kingdom of God:

4 And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but waitwait for the Promise of the Father, which, saith He, ye have heard of Me. 5 For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence. 6 When they therefore were come together, they asked of Him, saying, Lord, wilt Thou at this time restore again the Kingdom to Israel?

7 And He said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in His Own Power. 8 But ye shall receive PowerPower, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnessesbe witnesses unto Me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

That is still our commissionour commission -- the spread of the Gospel of Jesus Christ into all the world.

But I believe it was accomplished by the Apostles Apostles and Disciplesand Disciples unto whom Jesus was speaking.

Look at most pagan religionspagan religions, and you will find elementselements of the True Gospel.

Yes, it has been twistedtwisted and pervertedperverted in 2000 years, but the core of the GospelGospel is there.

Not all believedNot all believed, but they heardheard the Truth.

9 And when He had spoken these things, while they beheld, He was taken up; and a cloud received Him out of their sight.

Mark 16 19 So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, He was received up into Heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.

10 And while they looked steadfastly toward Heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; 11 Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into Heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into Heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen Him go into Heaven.

All the work of Godwork of God from that day forward is done by the church, the bodythe body of Jesus Christ.

John 16 (Jesus) 7 Nevertheless I tell you the Truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send Him unto you.

The work of God is multipliedmultiplied by the indwelling of His Holy SpiritHis Holy Spirit in every believer.

We are empoweredempowered to do the Will of God.

No longer is Jesus the onlyonly Spirit-filled One doingdoing the Will of the Father.

Since the Day of Pentecost, every believerevery believer is baptized by the Holy GhostHoly Ghost into the body of Christ.

He comes into usinto us and we are empoweredempowered by Him.

Let us each do our partour part in the body of Christ.

What giftsgifts do you have?

Use them for JesusUse them for Jesus.What can you dodo?

Do it for the LordDo it for the Lord.

I love to teachteach.

But I don't onlyonly use that gift in the church.

Perhaps you have a gift of hospitality.

Use it to help the needy;

Use it to reach neighbors.

Whatever you can docan do, do itdo it for Jesus:

To encourageencourage and helphelp your brothers and sisters;

To see lost souls savedlost souls saved from sin and from hell.
